There's usually 2 sides to this camp. Either you get the bigots who think that children are going to start prancing around and wearing rainbow flags just because they know LGBT people exist, and people who want to shove minority characters into media just for the sake of having minority characters.
I just want a character in media who is just a character that happens to be LGBT, rather than having most of their character based off of their orientation/identity like is commonly seen in media. |

. . . Really?
This was the basis of my entire point on the How to Train Your Dragon thread. |

Arrow contained an LGBT scene between Sarah Lance and Nyssa Al Ghul.
DC comics Earth Two series has an LGBT green lantern.
Both times they're not over-obsessed with the LGBT side of them.

Wasn't that in Good Luck Charlie? I only know cause my lil sister watches. There was a les couple and they acted like it was completely normal (which it is), which is what I really liked. They were like "Oh she has two moms, k cool". I'm glad that Disney supports lgbt |

"marvel and dc are doing pretty well in the comics, i think"
The only one I can think of where that is true is Runaways, and even then it felt forced on her (Lucy in the Sky's) character. It feels like they're trying to force pro LGBT agendas into the material sometimes. I still remember the thing with Harley Quinn not too long ago.
I agree with the OP, they should just be LGBT. I don't see why it is necessary to make it seem so forced.
I don't have a problem with LGBT. I do, however, have a problem with poor writing. |
