it's a huge school (1300+)
and they haven't said anything about an orientation or anything
and now I'm worried |
im starting high school in august too
and my mom is going to be so strict
im scared |
High school will be really fun and enjoyable starting freshman year.
@ace
How so? |
wow
you live in georgia, right?
@king
Hope so.
I'm not good at making friends considering I've been at my new school for 5 months and can't even name one person who I could even consider an acquaintance. |
my mom expects a lot out of me because my sister did seriously really well in high school and im the only other smart one out of my 2 sisters and one brother
ugh this is going to be the worst years of my life |
lol freshmen i hope u get beat up |
@super
It shouldn't really be that hard to make friends. In fact, you don't even have to talk to anyone first. For me, they tend to say something to me first and then we become friends. |

I'm in the same boat. Sort of.
My parents expect me to do well but they don't do anything if I do poorly. And I'm labeled "gifted" too, so the school expects me to do well.
Which makes me feel like a failure if I do bad. |

"1300"
..isnt exactly that huge. our school is capacitated for about 2,000 kids. my HS is in a network of two other schools called Alpharetta and Milton which both are rated for the same amount of kids as us but their campuses are far bigger than us. this creates traffic problems in the hallways of our school. we only have 1.3k kids now and out incoming freshmen are even bigger than us. |

I don't talk to anyone. But if they talk to me I can hold a conversation fairly well, but no one ever talks to me enough to even start a conversation. |
@cool
it's big when you used to go to a school of 500 people |
my middle school only had around 500 people |
@super
It doesn't even have to get to conversation length. Around new people, we just maybe talk once for a couple seconds, and then I find myself talking to them more and more. |
My school is very small. Two buildings. About 400-500 students. Small faculty.
It's nice. |
Me too.
Every core class is honors, I think. My parents wanted me in them. |
ok, fine
I'm stupid and my school is actually very tiny and there's no way I can get lost |
same
our orientation is normally close to the star tof the year though so |

@ king
that last part never seems to happen for me
@bring
yeah me too
I got to skip a level of science too. |
my middle school actually had more sprawl than my high school.
my high school is cube shaped so its hard to get lost |
I went to a middle school that only had around 700 or 800 kids. Then my high school has about 2k or 2.1k. That's not that much, but the campus is fairly big. Sadly, we're not an open campus school, so we can't even set foot outside of school during the day, even lunch. And there's a mall down the street. |
woooo clap clap
there will probably just be a first day thing
if u get lost theyll probs be chill
theyre be people telling u where to go or something

Yeah, they may send something in the mail or call about it.
It's just that when I started middle school here, they gave us all this information on it before the end of 5th grade.
