1,000 Word Essay on why Dolans SHOULDN'T be #1 TinyBerry3 wrote at 7/13/2014 6:18:12 PM:Report Abuse [1,020 words excluding this header] The Orange County Dolans on paper may seem the best, but when every single player is analyzed, and when the potential teams they have to face in the future are examined, you notice some big flaws that can come up along the way. Whether they are capitalized on quickly, or are delayed for a surprising moment (ex. Brazil v Spain), the outcome is inevitable, and sure to happen. The Dolans may sparkle and emerge as an early candidate to be the number one overall team, but with critical issues amongst them, this fad is sure to fade away into the sunset when exploited. First of all, the Orange County Dolans have an uttermost major issue that they keep refusing to dissolve, and refuting to admit to it once it is revealed. Sure, the OC Dolans have a great starting force, and some might say an all-star bench, but that does not account for every position. The OC Dolans lack a back-up goaltender to ComicDude, who as of now is on a nice streak. They simply do not even have a second capable goaltender to do what Comic does against outstanding teams, and if you judge his activity with the Quebec Aces, (current day Phoenix Blaze) you begin to see a breakthrough in the fortress of defenses that the Dolans are quick to put up as barriers that only help to produce a smokescreen that masks the issue at hand. The minute ComicDude does not show up for a game, they will be left scrambling to find a replacement, and if up against the right team, not even needing to be a powerhouse, the problematic scenario would ensure them having a loss, and easily conflicts afterward amongst them. This being the biggest issue, it was addressed first, but if the rest of the pieces of the puzzle are solved, then this is only a pawn a game of chess (a very small detail). The arising issue for this team would have to be the defensive position. So far every game they’ve managed to maintain possession, and put the ball on the other side of the rink. They have no sole defender who can deal with a major defensive encounter, but more of a defensive midfielder who joins in on the attacking role, and does just enough to get the job done when pressured. The question that comes up would be, “What if they are stuck in their zone?” and to answer that would simply be, an enormous issue for the team, and a weak spot that can be taken advantage by teams like Cairo, who love to enforce that issue. The perfect scenario of that would become a high scoring game, in which they were tested by Houston Havoc, in which Comic was indeed present, and they let up multiple goals only to persevere longer and win the game in OT. This may be overlooked as others, but it could become a repeating scenario which only needs the finishing touch for the opposition. A counter strategy with higher scoring rates on the attempts given would critically damage this team as well, and give root to new ideas on how to take down the defensive midfield style defense this team has. Also, frustration could be another problem for this team as the forwards are a little too accustomed to getting results quickly, which means scoring on goalkeepers, not breaking them down. What if they were to face a goalkeeper who is known for making numerous saves, and providing clearance for his team? The answer is they would mount frustration which would leave them very vulnerable to a counter attack as this makes the defensive midfielder (now forward due to the scenarios of wanting to score a goal) way to far up on his line, and exposing ComicDude, (or the other goalkeeper at hand) to some major scares when done correctly. If we were to once again refer to the Houston Havoc game where they scored 3 goals, and let in 2, imagine for a second if the game was 0-0 heading into the numerous OT’s. How bad would the players zoom for the chance to score a goal, and how much pressure would be on the goalkeeper to be attacked with clear cut chances? That can be described as lethal, and the frustration of the team would only mount, grow, etc. into a major situation for the future if other teams follow suit to the patient striking. How long before the bench acts up if they lose a game, or if their playtime diminishes against a quality team? Very quickly, and this could result to 1) a request for a trade [see SirHurricane already] 2) penalties such as TMM and 3) bad teamwork. All of those issues could be detrimental to the team, especially the arguing with teammates part of it. It is early on in the season, but how many SirHurricane’s will the OC Dolans have, and how many can they possibly pacify? We’ll have to find out, but a major point to look for especially when they pick up their first loss, and even more so if they lose another right after. Finally, after almost all grounds are covered, the flaws of the team are starting to expand, and come together to form a clear picture for all to see: They are beatable, and it can happen repeatedly if you use monotonous, strategic replicas of games prior to when they are overcome. When exploited well such as the higher teams in Winnipeg (specialists at counter), Cairo (can crush Dolans into their own zone), and Minnesota (bested the Riders in S9) have the opportunity to, something is sure to happen, and the wall is sure to crumble. This much can be taken away from their previous games that they have played, and as the author of this issue, it can surely be put to use when I go out on the ice. Once the Dolans fall by any of these options, their false misconceptional aurora that they have in them will fade away into the sunset in which it came from. [1,020 words excluding this footnote]

Not going to reply to anything Cheesey says, but there is no way in heck that you can deny that your defense is full of defensive midfielders and not a sole, true defender.
