@nathan15051: The thing is, if you download a keylogger or something, then all of your PWs are compromised no matter how complex they are, since you're still typing in the same things each time. A new authentication code is randomly generated every 30 seconds, so there's no way for a hijacker to gain access to that. This is by far one of the most secure options to protect your account.

Nathan, it is reccomended to use a phone so they can't have your account unless they manage to steal your phone, however there is another version called WinAuth that runs on Windows computers. Prevent account hijacking: http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=140591710

OK. But, Instead of using the WinAuth, couldn't we have it to be a roblox built-in feature? And also, Is there a way to change the renew time to bigger, like renew every 5 minutes? In 30 seconds, it's hard to go to your mail, open file, copy code, go to roblox and paste it before it expires.

@nathan15051: The purpose of the authenticator is that the special code is linked to your device only, and not to Roblox. It's not an e mail, it's just a couple of digits that are generated by the application that you would use for your initial login. You wouldn't have to do the same process again if you're playing on a trusted device.

It's not that. The phone application can only run on smartphones because it doesn't text you your code. You open the application and it starts generating codes. You should have your phone and laptop ready. You look at the generated code and enter it on your laptop. The windows thing is pretty much the same thing but runs on your computer. I would FULLY support this forum due to authentication being visible to other players, as of not knowing what they are pressing. Why has ROBLOX not done this?
