This game got off to a good start with 10 runs already, Bautista hit a 3 run shot in the 1st and the Yankees answered with 2 however Bautista hit another shot the next inning to make it 4-2 and the Yankees answered back again with Suzuki hitting a 3 run shot. Mark Buehrle's night is done early going just 3 innings giving 9 hits and 6 runs only striking out 2, Toronto brings in Todd Redmond who's 1-4 with an 2.35 ERA to try and slow down the Yanks offence.

Great job for the most part from Redmond, 3 up and 3 down with 2 strikeouts. As we head to the 5th the Yankees lead 6-4.

Nice double play by the Blue Jays as Headley thought it was the 3rd out after Suzuki struck out and got caught up at second as Reyes tags him out. Top of the 6th is up next.

Yankees will win and force the Blue Jays out of a playoff spot.

It's only game 1 of the series lol, this thing could turn around and the Blue Jays could win 2/3 or even come back to win tonight. Besides it'd only be a half game out.

David Huff is up in the pen for the Yankees, Kuroda is up to 90 pitches.

#141562563Saturday, July 26, 2014 12:56 AM GMT

That's it for Kuroda, going 5.2 innings giving up 4 runs on 8 hits throwing 94 pitches.

Dude look, don't be butthurt because you know the Yankees are the better team here, it's nothing to be ashamed of.

Kuroda is however responsible for the runner on 1st so if he should score it's be 5 earned runs. David Huff is in for relief, he's 3-0 with a 4.20 ERA and a 29/19 K/BB ratio.

I'm not ashamed of anything, it's had to say the Yankees are the better team when they've been pretty much equal lately, if the Blue Jays can take 2/3 from New York it'll be them who's knocked out of a playoff spot.

>equal lately >Yankees 6 out of last 7 >blue jays 16 out of last 41

But yet in that time they're still tied in the standings lol.

The Blue Jays blew a huge lead. If they continue like this they won't make the playoffs.

Honestly, I'm not worried about this game, it'll be a new day tomorrow and there's still time tonight I've seen the Jays come back before and we shouldn't be worrying about who's making the playoffs until the O's slow down winning and the Mariners because if Seattle keeps winning and the O's do then neither will be in the post-season.

>Huge lead >3-0 I've seen them blow worse, but I've also seen them come back from blowing smaller leads.

On June 4th they were 6 games ahead of the Yankees is what I meant.

#141563745Saturday, July 26, 2014 1:07 AM GMT

Yes but they also gave the lead to the O's not the Yankees yet... Also one thing the Blue Jays have been better at then the Yankees is their run differential, New York is -27 while Toronto is +22.

Run differential literally has NO significance. It is a meaningless stat.

Todd Redmond settled in for 3 solid innings of relief but it looks like Cecil will work the 7th.

Honestly, like I said let's not worry about who's the "better" team until the playoffs are set. If the Jays are all sitting at home watching the Yankees work their ticket to the World Series then your word will be right but if it's the other way around these series will mean nothing. August 29th, 30th and 31st are the next time they play, it'll be really significant then.

Tomorrow's probables are Drew Hutchison for the Blue Jays who's 6-9 with a 4.54 ERA against Chris Capuano who's 1-1 with a 4.55 ERA. Hutchison has got some good stuff but hasn't fared well in his recent 2 outings due to a lack of run support. On his July 1st start against the Brewers he had a good outing going 7 innings giving up just 3 hits and 1 earned run striking out 10.
zc23
#141565308Saturday, July 26, 2014 1:22 AM GMT

Brett Cecil is 0-3 with a 3.77 ERA coming in to try and put up a goose egg for this half of the inning.

#141565735Saturday, July 26, 2014 1:26 AM GMT

Cecil retires the side in order. It may be the best chance for a Blue Jays rally here, Melky, Bautista and Narvarro due up.
zc23
#141566426Saturday, July 26, 2014 1:32 AM GMT

Bautista with a 1 out double but now it's 2 outs with Francisco at bat, could be the last ditch effort for the Jays here.
