I've heard that people are having trouble keeping their cameras still when doing stopmotion, so i've made a plugin for you guys to fix that.
link:
http://www.roblox.com/4567777s-Stopmotion-Camera-item?id=174073477
INSTALLATION:
1. go to the link and click the install button.
2. restart roblox studio(if it is already open)
HOW TO USE:
1. click on the folder icon. it will toggle the GUI
2. click the camera icon to save the current camera pose.
3. rinse and repeat
do NOT delete the "_CPData" model in the workspace unless you want to delete all of your poses(and you will have to restart studio for the plugin to work again).
the L button loads a pose
and the X button deletes one.
you can click on any pose and type in your preferred name.
give it a try!
p.s
I only made this in a few hours, so there are bound to be some bugs. report them to me ,and i'll try my best to fix them |

wow hopefully this is a great innovation for those that do stopmotion |

Here is a way to keep your camera still. Go into properties in Studio mode, go into Explorer, press Camera, press CameraType and choose scriptable and when you're finished press Fixed. |

@trunks
that's not what the plugin is for, it enables the user to save the camera's position+rotation and return to it at anytime.
here's an example:
you are doing stop motion, and you need the camera to stay in one spot. let's say you need to move the camera to another place, and rotate something from that angle, and then bring the camera back to it's original position. it is IMPOSSIBLE to go back to the original position manually with 100% accuracy. which is exactly what my script does. |

Friends of mine cannot install plugins, so that is why I posted this. Not to undermine you. |
|
|
You can simply save the game as a file in the same spot you wanted it before you took the next frame, and continuously do this. A lot of people have problems where their studio's just cannot install plugins. Again, not to undermine, just informing people. |

oh, I'm sorry. it sort of sounded like you were. |
|
|
I've abandoned stop-motion because of ROBLOX and its sucky rotation. If you want nice animation, well, it's pretty much impossible now.

No need to apologize, it was actually my fault. I am sorry. |

hah, ok then. did you install the plugin? if so, i'd like some feedback.
@evil
what do you mean "sucky rotation"? it works flawlessly for me. |
|
|
Each time I take a frame and then try to rotate my character's part, that part goes back a little, making it much more harder to get the next frame correct. You eventually end up with your character having a seizure.
Does the C-frame plugin show a blue line around your character?

Oh, I've got it. Thanks. It's handy.

Stop motion is a pain.

This video was so excruciatingly painful to make, and it frustrated me so badly.
Another thing, making a stop-motion in studio will distort the screen recording size, so I had to make it inside a game with F3X.

Never thought I'd see a crowd of people actually enjoy StopMotion except Panda, I enjoy the conversation. |

@space
do you mean that the screenshot resolution is never correct? my screen resolution is 1920x1080, but I can never center and resize the window properly. luckily, I've found a workaround.
1. google "brianapps sizer"
2. download zip package and extract into a folder
3. run the exe
4. right click the sizer icon in the taskbar, click configure, and add desired resolutions. you might also wanna mess around with the other settings, to get the desired result.
5. open roblox studio, load up a place.
6. drag the tab out, so it's in its own separate window.
7. put mouse in corner of window, as you would when resizing a window
8. right-click and select your desired resolution.
hopefully that's what you meant, otherwise I spent 5 minutes writing these pointless instructions.. |
|
|
I might make a group for all the stop-motion directors.

Any Way you can make a plugin for advanced movements? eg; Dancing, Battle Poses, Fighting, running, etc.
Basically have more tools for editing fragile parts like hats, torso, etc. |

|
|
you do realize you could just use clonetrooper1019's cutscene plugin to save a camera position
its what i use |
