Does a deep voice make a good announcing voice?

I have a more then average deeper voice and people always say I am good at commentary and announcing I've never really done either of those, so the only conclusion is my voice tone I'd do a sample but all I have is my crappy laptop mic and it would record the construction outside Do you think it's the tone of voice that makes someone a good announcer? Discuss.

A deep, smooth voice. I can pull that off easily since I don't get voicecracks, never have, probably never will.

It's 100% better than having a high pitched voice. Nobody really finds those soothing.

I have a fairly smooth sounding voice, so yeah, I wouldn't doubt you could do it.

I don't really consider my voice as "smooth" but I don't know, it sounds different to me then it sounds to other people I suppose.

It depends, do you get compliments saying you have a really soothing voice? I've had people say that to me a few times in the past, pretty sure it's a good thing, haha
