My English teacher in 8th grade had one of those 'people' as his neighbor. The guy was in his 90's and one day he was in his rocking chair on the porch when the FBI showed up

Over here (Well in NJ) they gave a 90-something year old a life sentence for involvement w/ the SS when he was a college student. wtf is the point lmao Closest thing I can think of is since I hear the German government's doing everything they can to make people forget about WWII so they've steered in the direction of extreme PC where kids can get arrested for drawing sw@stik@$

I don't even understand why the governments of the world would charge these 90+ year old people for things they did at least 69 years ago, which most (if not all) of them were forced to do by the Nazi government and only did it out of either fear or not knowing that their job was part of something as bad as it was. These people would have been in their early to mid 20s at the oldest and were more than likely part of the Hitler Youth programs at a younger age and were later conscripted and assigned to work as guards in these camps. It's not like they were running anything there, they were just simple guards. It's not even certain that the guards knew exactly what the purpose of the camps was, or that they were killing innocents instead of war criminals. Not meaning to be a Nazi symphatizer here, but charging these people is a huge waste of time and money.

"German government's doing everything they can to make people forget about WWII" I'm sure that they're aware of the fact that every German is going to find out about the war anyway through education, and when I was in Germany for a week there were several tour guides who mentioned "the war" without being asked about it.
