Where do you see that? All I can see is an arm holding the number 7 with some line above it somewhat like a stem. Like... He plucked the number 7 off a tree.

Eh, not quite. I think it has a cool shape. :D And if we're going to make shapes out of kana... It's the hiragana n and... Looks like an N. But more like an H. Many people think katakana tsu looks like a smiley face. Hiragana shi. Looks like a backwards J.

Hiragana ku looks somewhat like a <. Katakana yo is obviously a backwards E. Hiragana yu looks similar the Cyrillic letter yu, Ю. Hiragana gu looks somewhat like the head of a fish with eyes. IDK. Hiragana me looks like a horned serpent-like dragon coiled up. Katakana ni looks like the kanji ni, 二.

Now for kanji... Not what the necessarily what they look like at site, but ways they were created. This actually a picture of a person with his arms and legs outstretched. The kanji for bigness. This is a simplified and squared off picture of a woman with her legs crossed, and means woman. This is a squared and simplified picture of a baby or child swaddled in a blanket or towel and means child. A woman and child were combined to mean liking or fondness. 大好 In a word for love, the kanji for liking and big are put together.
