'I have. Is it the invisible fourth wall on a stage in a play?' The fourth wall is sort of the "invisible wall" that the viewer sees through. Jokes that break the "fourth wall" are just jokes that speak to the viewer directly or jokes that recognises that it's a play/cartoon/movie/etc. and plays on it. E.g. that moment where Jimmy loses his outline.
