Hear me out. I know there are a LOT of people who think that it should be much easier to manage your friend lists, but is nuking the whole system really the way to go?
Having a Follow option is great, actually. If someone's famous, they don't necessarily have to get bombarded with a ton of friend requests. People can just follow them for updates. I think it's an awesome idea, and that should stay.
But Roblox, what are you thinking? A 200 friend limit? That's insanely low for a game like this. In fact, this update is pointless. It's just renaming Best Friends to Friends and Friends to Followers, and then downgrading their meaning. We already have a 200 Best Friend limit, no? I think things are perfect just the way they are now, and there's absolutely no need to change them, especially not this drastically.
You have people who ENJOY having a large friend list. Sure, they may just be egotistical, but they might just be a friendly type and they accept most friend requests. I'm one of those people, and I mostly just talk to people who are on my Best Friend list, anyway. You've also got people who are inactive for the time being, and they'll come back some time later and realize their whole friend list is jacked up, as well as their friends' friend lists.
Roblox, believe me, this is a step backwards. I beg of you, please do not implement this update. It is not ideal. Keep the Followers idea, go ahead. It's not bad at all and actually helps everyone out. But, again, is a friend list nuking really the way to go? I find it a step backwards, Roblox. Don't do it.

(TL;DR) Look, Roblox, the Followers system is a good idea. But 200 friends as a limit, as well as a friend list nuking beforehand is not the ideal way to go. Please, do not implement this update. Keep the Followers idea, go ahead, but don't nuke our friend lists.

200 Friend Limit? That's why I don't like Steam.
I guess I understand that this reduces the amount of noobs who fr everyone in the server, but 200 is so low! Hell, I have more then 200 friends in real life! And I'm an introvert!

Stop friending people you don't know.Make the people you don't know your followers not your friends. |

Guys, this is what Best Friends is FOR, though. It's to sort out who you care about and who you don't. It'd also just be better to give us an easily manageable friend list. Like making navigable pages, and able to delete multiple people at once. |

This really is a desperate attempt to update something that is "out of date". With all of the social media sites having followers and friends, @ROBLOX feels that they need to "keep up" with this. If they just keep what they had maybe more people will come because of the fact that Roblox is a little bit original. |

Friends are meant to be friends, not every random person on this website. As soon as you and others who are complaining about this update realise this, you won't hit the 200 friend limit.
With there being a maximum amount of friends it'll allow for ROBLOX to introduce far more versatile scripting features to do with friends, etc. Also, it should be noted that 200 is the current limit. They'll be looking to up this when they can, so long as it fits in with the view of what they're attempting to achieve. |

No, it's not.

Friends lists are for people who you want to be friends with. Not random people who sent you an FR.

Actually, no. It isn't. It enforces the meaning of a "Friends list." AKA: A list of friends, people who you like and can hang out with. Besides, the human brain can't remember more than around 150 people at a time. I don't know the exact number, but it's around that.

Actually, lemme bring up another point I saw on /r/roblox.
Lots of people, including me and the dude who said this, have a lot of people on their friend list who have by now quit. May it be because they were memorable friends, or because they gave us a limited, etc., but for whatever reason, we keep them on our friend lists as a memorial. What's going to happen when the update goes through? Well, I'm simply going to be reduced to a "follower" of them, because they probably don't have me as a best friend. That actually seems very heartbreaking to me, and there's much more to this update than simply "omg guaiys you dont need 5000 friends". This is a terrible change because we might be losing connections we can never fix again, you get me?

Here's an idea:
Unfriend your friends on ROBLOX if they stop playing ROBLOX and only have friends that are actually active on ROBLOX.Having them as a friend on your friends list means absolutely nothing and will just use up space. |
