Well, they did it, and I lost literally everyone but 7 people, and now riots are going on.

Seriously, this is ridiculous. I've probably lost so many ties that I used to have with people, and people everywhere now only have 2-10 friends.
It's depressing as hell and I have to scan through 38 pages of followers to get all the people I can back, likely overlooking other people as well.
I have no idea how anyone can think this is a good update, because it is NOT. |

What exactly are you going on about/what are you on? ROBLOX expressed, nearly four months ago, that any mutual best friends will be added as your friend, everyone else will be made into a follower. How hard is that concept to understand?
The reason you have two friends is due to the fact that they didn't add you as a best-friend (or you didn't add them as one).

As I said to SirBook, you've had four months prior notice, as well a prior notice as to what the prerequisites are for someone to be automatically add to your friend list. As I explained above, you need to have them on your best-friend list and they need to have you on their best-friend list.
If you've lost any ties then that's an issue brought about due to both you and your friends. Obviously you don't have the "tie" you thought you did, if they've simply been added as followers rather than friends. |

@Data I've said this before on the thread, but Roblox made little effort to get the knowledge out to the community. All they did was made some dinky blog post saying that in three weeks, they'll be doing this.
That was in OCTOBER.
Most users don't even check the blog, however. I tried telling people via status update, but I couldn't get the word out enough, and Roblox certainly wasn't helping since all they had was one blog post, and then they never mentioned it again until now.
Now you have a huge trainwreck of riots, people thinking they were hacked, and people losing friends all over the place. How ANYONE thought this would be a beneficial update is beyond me, because I have seen at most only 3 people praising it since it was implemented today.
Don't try and tell me that Roblox did a good job of telling the community, because they did not. One blog post is not enough when a good majority of the community doesn't even check it regularly, and the blog post was eventually drowned out by stream promotions and junk. |

Datastore mind explaining how certain users on my list were removed without being transitioned to "Friends" or "Followers", and it didn't even transition best friends all the way.
And it's not in the developers interest to put a limit on how many we can add, whether or not it will increased or decrease over time.
Your "Friends are meant to be friends, not random users . . ." statement is something of your own personal preference. They are not supposed to be micromanaging. |

I agree with getting rid of the following idea. Just plain stupid. This is a gaming website. I come on here to play games and make little kids upset, not to see what my "friends" are up to. Why do they not care? Please someone answer that... |

* I can't really say anything about that, purely because it hasn't happened to me. My first thought/question is in regards to "are you sure they didn't just unfollow you?"
* "[Insert 'shouldn't be a limit' bit here]"
- You can now manage your friends a lot easier; no need to go through 8000 (or a number along those lines).
- Developers can/will be able to fine tune permissions for their games.
- More access to friend related APIs (wasn't realistic trying to retrieve 20 thousand friends from the website, etc).
- Etc
* I can't really say much else other than reiterating what I said. A friends list has always been there for friends, it's just other users who have taken to using it in other ways. I'm pretty sure this is also probably a reason as to why they did this update - At least with this update you can now differentiate between the people you're friends with and "all the people you've every met/random people". |
