See, America, sociologically, is described as an "Adverserial Individualistic" country, meaning every man/woman for themselves. There is a ridiculously low amount of tie to the family compared to all other countries, therefore they don't really remember the death of the family members, and dont feel the need to commemorate it This is especially true in the Middle Class and above The potato speaks the truth
