Why? Simple. To properly understand and use math, you must be literate. Literature is an art. Math is propagated through various art forms, and is impossible to use without using art. Geometry pushes the art envelope further, using diagrams and such to properly visualize what you are doing. And as the other shelley said, math is needed for "everything", so technically art is the most important thing, barring food, drink, and shelter.

Without math you wouldn't be able to canculate the size of the cloth of your art project, or be able to make proper triangles. Just try to make a circle without an helping tool. It wouldn't make a proper circle now, would it?

Your over-all statement is certainly somewhat accurate, though I'd disagree with various segments. Artistic design conveys a pattern of linguistics itself, various cultures have different methods for conveying their method of communication visually. Both of those subjects utilize the core concept of linguistical convention to allow the people participating to understand a specific sequence of communication, "Mathematics" itself is essentially a system of theoretical and logical concepts. Neither are more crucial than the other nor are they less important than the other.

If I stand up and sound wise, does that make me wise and does that make me right? So if I wanted to say; "ART IS THE ONLY SUBJECT IM GOOD AT AND I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY WE HAVE TO LEARN MATHS" No one would agree with me, but if I say it like I was a wise old honey bee, apparently she is all knowing.

"If I stand up and sound wise, does that make me wise and does that make me right?" It certainly doesn't, mimicking a particular pattern of linguistic convention doesn't necessarily indicate that an individual has an extensive depth of understanding of the actual significance of the subject they're discussing.

@Anony Good point, actually. But still, you do need axioms of art to understand the axioms of math.

Art is more about activities. Basically, art is not as important as mathematics. Mathematics is one of the most important subjects probably in school. Considering how I get a pretty accurate math score, there is a good change I will see academics in my future.

@ii I like the other person who looks similar to you better; he's more eloquent. Also, he makes concise points.

"Art is more about activities. Basically, art is not as important as mathematics. Mathematics is one of the most important subjects probably in school. Considering how I get a pretty accurate math score, there is a good change I will see academics in my future." In addition to this post, most people in my classroom prefer art because they get to skip mathematical work. Mathematics has always been my main subject. I could improve in other subjects like Geography and sciences.

"he's more eloquent." I agree that he is pretty eloquent and he knows a lot more words I can't argue with that.

There are a lot more artists in my class then mathematicians but they still need to learn math if they want to get good report cards on first term.

"I agree that he is pretty eloquent and he knows a lot more words I can't argue with that." Each individual has their own preferred style of communication that they're capable of utilizing efficiently, I personally enjoy reading your beneficial responses. Either way, though, enjoy revising your mathematical and geometric knowledge as the spectrum is quite rather extensive and there's components of both in either subject.

I appear to between you two in terms of eloquence - I use large words, but not excessively. My grammar is also unusually great, greater than I expect of myself.

"Each individual has their own preferred style of communication that they're capable of utilizing efficiently, I personally enjoy reading your beneficial responses." I am pretty capable of using my own communication but, communication is communication. My mathematical knowledge is quite complex. Many individuals have their style of communication like you said before and there are some smart people in my class too.
