Zombies. How hilarious, pretending to be prepared, as if you knew how easy it would be to kill them was enough. I was wrong.
No one is too sure how this began, some say it was a disease, others say it's from the causes of biological warfare. It doesn't matter anymore. Earth is dead. Few people are left uninfected. The survivors have been treated to an immunity to the airborne disease, but when transmitted to the bloodstream, via the zombie's teeth, the virus spreads. Not only is it in their natural instinct to crave spreading the disease, but they hunger for flesh. As they transmit the disease, they tear off whatever flesh they can grab and feast. After a slow and painful process, you are now a zombie. These survivors are going to do whatever it takes to survive.
The end is nigh, the lunatics roaming the city streets would say. We joked and jeered at them. In the end they were right.

Zack Lovewell arose from his bed. Taking a quick look out the window, he noticed it was clear. He knew his eyes were decieving him. It's never clear. It's never clear anymore. They were somewhere, somwhere close. He grabbed his put the strap of his shotgun around his neck, holstered his revolver, and clutched his oar. Slowly, he opened the door. {Time to look for survivors, I suppose..} he thought. |
