I recently e-mailed ROBLOX about this and they said the tech team was already on this issue. And I have seen articles by ROBLOX Administrators also saying they are on the issues, and that it is a common error. Don't worry, it will be fixed to. It happens to me as well. That also happens to me sometimes, you can just re-join or wait for the chat to come back.
