the movement itself is created by women's insecurity at the fact that she doesn't look like the front cover of a tabloid magazine, and thus she just has to be ugly i mean, i support the idea that personality and such matter more than physical appearance, but when its done so blatantly because people are salty for others caring or their perception of others caring about appearance, then it becomes something else completely

Indeed, watching them suffer under this grand cornucopia of superficial beauty that they've hoisted upon their own pedestal, --with desperate denial that it has any importance to them whatsoever while they break their own backs trying to flay it, --it just puts into true perspective how true they really do hold it to heart. Not sure if I made any sense right now.

"i probably do but there's so many people that think exactly alike me then" doesn't matter; you missed the entire point of the fundraiser.

take self-acceptance at its core. it's you accepting the way you are despite your flaws, and loving yourself for it this is to promote others to accept others solely on the basis that they are different and nothing else, basically due to the culture the only solution is the equally-wrong counterculture

oh everyone on this thread so far has missed the point.

enlighten me on what this kickstarter and the social justice movement behind it are all about then, because what i see now are people that, though the movement itself is good, are doing it all for the wrong reasons

"Indeed, watching them suffer under this grand cornucopia of superficial beauty that they've hoisted upon their own pedestal," this exactly moris like, if your movement is to promote what is inside rather than what is out, then why do you have to showcase it 100 per cent in contrast to the (lack of) "physical beauty"

You can't print personality on paper. "Just kidding. You have no chance!"

Women have dug themself into such a deep pit of beauty products and physical appearance changers and they're just now waking up? few years too late ...just like 7th grade

"few years too late" i can't see why women in general come to terms with the fact that it's perfectly OK to not be a covergirl and to slather yourself in makeup, and that you were wrong for doing so instead of making these counterculture projects which hurt feminism and person acceptance yes, i'm all for an alternative-style magazine due to how awful tabloids are ran if that brings security in people that they can be fashionable just like on the cover of that, then yes by all means its good but it's fake for that to give you a self-esteem boost

Yes, it's like proclaiming to the world that you're not a slave while holding your own shackles. Either be free or don't, but don't pretend that you can be free if you're not willing to take either of the two options.
