I wasn't connoting derision, nor do I see any substance in your statement. Throughout the majority of their existence the forums were always plagued with those unhelpful, spiteful people who only partake to get a kick out of another's ire/confusion. |

The manner in which you responded implied disrespect. Never mind what you meant; the way you came off was completely the opposite.
Anyways, the forums then are far different from the forums now. By the end of 2007, there was roughly 50-100k players at the time, maybe 10% of which frequented the forums. Because of this, the admins and moderators were able to do their job more efficiently instead of having to divide time amongst numerous people. These two factors alone warded off any people attempting to harass other forumers since they'd be dealt with accordingly.
Now? You can throw up a 20 page harassment thread because someone got doxxed.
You can argue that the forums have always been useless, but you couldn't juxtapose the forums then and the forums now.
