We had to use a scratch like program to re-make Flappy Bird. Yay? Guess I'm your plumber, OT

You'll be able to interpret algorithms much better.

i did that do, expect we did more simplif'ed stuff stupid really trying to trick us that its THAT easy then we ALL learn scripting, aka java which every single indi maker uses these days now

"i did that do, expect we did more simplif'ed stuff stupid really trying to trick us that its THAT easy then we ALL learn scripting, aka java which every single indi maker uses these days now" I was upset that we never worked with making the bird, backgrounds, and obstacles. It was very pre-formatted. Guess I'm your plumber, OT

@sherlockedholmes pretty much, its like telling us "do this, do that" and we are like WE GET it took me less than 10 mins to finish it really the "college" students were pretty ticked and mad how stupid the program was even, i doubt that worked hard to get A+ on this

"You'll be able to interpret algorithms much better." The intention of the "Hour-Of-Code" program is to introduce individuals of varying age-groups to programming by tasking them with thinking algorithmically to develop an efficient solution to the relatively "Simplistic" tasks provided. If you can develop proficient algorithmic instructions, It becomes much more simpler to grasp the various linguistic patterns in general programming/scripting.

i just completed the flappy bird hour of code thing in 5 minutes.. what how does this even teach? it isn't even teaching you a language.

Ours had one too. We had to use a crap Python-like program Java is the best language no doubt ~ Previously Solman123/Permille, is kill, add 9k to my post count ~ All previous versions of logic will no longer be supported as of this update. ~

It doesn't teach. Kids in my class actually think people make money by putting blocks together. SCREW YOU HOUR OF CODE! YOU GIVE CODING A BAD NAME.

if it ACTUALLY taught you a language and maybe went over a language of choice for about a unit or 2, such as python, or lua, and used it to make a game or something, i think it would have been a good idea. but you aren't really learning game development/coding, at least that's how i saw it with that flappy bird activity.
