I feel like that would look stupid. glowing tattoos will only ever look cool with airbenders, and airbenders are just the best of the four bending types.

if korra was a combustion bender and was the first avatar to be one avatar spirit wouldnt do much because avatar spirit comes from other avatars and she would be the first combustion avatar bender so she'd be the only one with knowledge about it... kind of like how she was the first metalbending avatar (unless toph taught aang) |

@cirv, korra's connection with the other avatars was already severed
now its just her and raava, and i think the avatar state now is just raava and korra syncing their powers

When Unalaq removed Raava from Korra's body and slashed it a couple of times with water
Raava went back into Korra later on, but the connection was severed
