I keep on hearing Christians say that Buddhists worship Buddha or that Satanists worship Satan, but this isn't true.
Sure, there may be a small number of people out there who actually do, but this isn't true for the vast majority of them.
Satanists worship the concept of Satan, but they don't actually believe Satan exists. Buddhists follow Buddha's teachings, but they view Buddha as a wise man, not as a deity.
So, yeah. Neither of them believe in any gods, they're atheistic religions. |

satan isn't considered a god, he was an angel who fell out of the favour of god and gained power in the fallen world, becoming evil 'n' shit
but just because gautama was actually a human or because satan is actually a red guy with a tail, it doesn't mean they can't become religions

like if i am worshipped by a group of people who build shrines to me and write holy books of me, i can be a religion, or at the least a cult figure

No, they're not Christians, so they don't view Satan with a Christian worldview. The Bible doesn't even depict Satan like Christians say, Christians just assume it.
Satanists, from what I've read on Wikipedia, see Satan as a symbol of the highest possible potential of a person, essentially that each person should strive to be their own god in a sense. Satan is seen as free (intellectually, carn“al, etc), enlightened, wise, and prideful, which they all are considered virtues under Satanism. |

Both Satanism and Buddhism can be taken as a religion and/or a philosophy. For example: I trust in the philosophy of Satanism but I'm an atheist. |

No. You see that with Buddhism you don't think that there are others paths. Some of them think that Jesus might know a different way.
Also Atheism is lack of theism. Theism is belief. The things you have stated are BELIEFS.

The article itself sounds like it is from a christian perspective. From a Simple perspective, a lot of people believe that it is spiritual belief. It isn't. They CAN choose to believe in god, and most of them do. And also, isn't Satanism almost extinct? I think it has since the 1960's. |

Buddhists and Satanists don't believe in a God or gods
they don't have faith in any kind of god, really, and that's pretty much what makes up a religion
faith is what you can't fully comprehend or see, but you believe it anyway
you can see that the Buddha was a real person, you can comprehend the concept of satan
So Buddhism and Satanism are beliefs and not really religions or faiths |
