Christmas - Traditionally celebrated as the "Birth of Christ", referring to Christianity. The term was conjoined with the words "Christ" and "mas", meaning feast. Being that Paganism was the traditional norm of Natives across Europe/America/Asia, etc., the Christians enjoined the two. Few might say out of mockery of the Pagan, non-Christian religions, or for the sense of meeting "half-way" for converting Pagans.
I'm not fully sure about the origin of the name, other than the two terms are an admixture of Christian indoctrination and Pagan rituals.
Fun Fact : For Norse Pagans (Germanic Paganism), the Feast of Yule, one of the 4 "Holy Days" takes place on Christmas. Again, a reasonable sign of that Christmas may be a Christian mockery. |

whether you believe he was the messiah or not depends on whether you accept those religious texts or not, but his existence is fact
