I'd would like it if you can make AI players by just doing Instance.new("Player"). When done, they will appear on the player list in game but with a bolt icon just to let you know they are a CPU.
Bots can be used to replace a player that has left the game, so if user Builderman left the game, they will be replaced by a bot but remember that bots are just placeholders for players so if a new human player joins in, the game will kick a currently playing bot out of the server for the human to play. (Bots will not count towards the max player count in servers.)
This would be great for games that may have loss their popularity as they are still rendered playable.
Other things about bots:
-They do not contain a player gui.
-Their AI can be programed in as a script and you can make them chat with a function called Chat(String text).
-You can't friend request a bot in game but they can be reported if the creator made them inappropriate.
-They can be enabled or disabled for the game creators' sake.
-When they chat their name appears like this "(BOT)Username:"
-They can also be used a tutor or NPC if edited on to not be kicked on player join.
-The since the server handles the bots, it will use local scripts inside a bot's player character.
-Bots can be used to test a multiplayer game in ROBLOX Studio's Play Solo mode.
-Bots can rubber-band AI their abilities (like how a hacker does it but to a smaller extreme). I discourage it though since legit players don't cheat.
What do you think of my idea? Is it good or is it bad...or is it so-so?

Bots exists in all sorts of games today. Mario Kart and Unreal Tournament are examples of games that will pit you with bots if you're offline. Which is useful if people aren't playing online as much at the moment.
It would be useful if this can be done to ROBLOX games to allow games that have lost their playerbase to still be playable. |

FULL SUPPORT BEST IDEA EVER!!
It would be great for games that need 2+ players, like Wheel of Fortune and maybe 2 player tycoon games?

Are AI npcs impossible to create? Or is the main idea that they would appear on the leaderboard? Wouldn't that necessitate the AIs taking up player slots to keep the gameplay balanced? |

@Xerolayne
I'm talking about AI bots that can be treated as players by the game (local scripts on AI bots will run on server). They can do things that player can normally do too, like chat and use/store gear. |

Support.
But, how about BotBC, which places you in games via scripts? (JK)

Problem: AI would do actions that the real player don't want the AI to take. |

This is already something that is scriptable, albeit it is quite complex to do so. |

@TehTechiePlayz
Well, that's what the creator can do. They can have the AI do super human-like actions.
Games outside of ROBLOX do this...it's called rubber-band AI - when the AI detects the player is doing too good in a game, they will "cheat" or do abnormally better to catch up (it happens the other way around too).
I discourage it though, but the creator of the game is free to do whatever he/she likes. |
