Which one do you think is better, the Nexus 9 or the 2013 Nexus 7? |
|
|
Nvidia Shield Tablet.
Nexus 7 is old.
Nexus 9 is a stripped down Nvidia Shield Tablet. |

9 is better
but if you're short on cash
i guess 7 is good |
|
|
@luigi Sorry, but I asked for N9 and N7 not about the Nvidia Shield. And btw, the Shield is overkill in my case, which is why I didn't include it.
@ouendan Thanks for the response :) |

>Shelid is overkill
THE NEXUS 9 USES THE SAME PROCESSOR IN THE SAME FAMILY. IT'S JUST 64-BIT AND LOST 2 CORES.
Plus the Nexus 9 is basically a scam. |
|
|
@luigi You obviously don't know much about technology. Just because it has the same processor doesn't make it just as powerful, and at the same time the processors are quite different.
And how exactly is it a scam? |

nexus 9 is better optimized, though
nexus 7 wasn't amazing, but what made it good was it's excellent optimization due to being directly from google |

Nvidia Shield Tablet has...
16:10 aspect ratio
MicroSD Card Slot
Free Game Included
HDR cameras
5MP Front and Back facing
Stylus
Mini HDMI
Ethernet Support (According to the 5.0 changelog)
And It's 8 inches.
Nexus 9 has...
4:3 aspect ratio (great for older TV shows or movies)
NFC (Useful if you had LTE bands)
Bluetooth 4.1 (Let's face it. No smartband is 4.1 only right now)
4k (Good but not on a 4:3 tablet)
9 inches (sure it's like an iPad)
But here are the cons
Nvidia Shield Tablet has...
Problems with LTE
Screen Glare
Problems with Android L (Although these were patched)
Nexus 9 has...
Odd Heating in the top left corner when holding sideways (It heats up fast)
Thermal Throttling (yeah you read that right, this problem happens with more intensive games like NFSMW, Skylanders Trap Team, or something else that fully takes advantage of the Tegra K1 Processor)
The Nvidia Shield Tablet is also a better idea because of the Miracast Support, MHL, and it can support up to 4 nvidia shield controllers through Wi-Fi Direct.
The Nexus 7(2013) is far from being a good idea. It's aged now. |

neither, nokia lumia 520 |
|

@luigi Again, proving my point that the shield is overkill. Im not using the tablet for gaming; i don't need nor do I want the shield.
FYI, 4:3 is the same aspect ratio as most tablets (including the iPad). NFC is used for more than you think and can be pretty useful. |
|
|
>shield is overkill
THE NEXUS 9 IS 2% MORE POWERFUL THAN THE NVIDIA SHIELD TABLET.
IN FACT BOTH ARE CURRENTLY OVERKILL. NO TABLET (besides iPad Air 2) CAN REACH THE GRAPHICAL POWER.
>same aspect ratio as most tablets
>most
*the iPad line of tablets
>NFC is used for more than you think
Right now NFC can't be used for anything useful except for Credit Card Transactions, Unlocking your device, and seeing your device rumble when you put a Skylander on it. |

@luigi Alright dude, Im done. For whatever reason you are dead set on arguing with me. I want a Nexus device. I do NOT want anything else, including the Shield. |
|
|
if you really want a Nexus device.
Pick the spiritual sucessor to our old pal 2012 Nexus 7.
Which is the Nvidia Shield Tablet.
Pick it or else the curse of the Nexus 9 will set on you.
You'll feel like a fool after buying the Nexus 9.
But hey.
You don't need to listen to me.
Find out for yourself why the Nvidia Shield Tablet is a better option against the Nexus 9. |
|
|
@luigi The reason on want a nexus device is for the Android updates. Im tired of all the other companies editing the software and taking forever to push it to the devices. |
|
|
>taking forever
The Shield OTA updates usually release after 1 week of the next build (Android 5.0.1 update came to Shield Tablet users less than 1 week) |
