Stop adding bad updates.
Seriously, we don't care about the site layout or some crap, we care about stuff we can interact with or do.
Update the comments; add filters and like-dislike system.
Update the group system; add the ability to rename it, to remove clans.
Update the forums; it's been so long. We want an update. Whether it's an official signature creator, or letting us edit and remove posts we've made.
Seriously, site layouts and themes don't do anything for us. In fact, usually we hate them. You're basically paying your devs to make us hate you more. ;-;
LISTEN TO US
I, as well as many others, have given ideas for updates that could specifically gain you money, and even make us happy. The fact that you're rarely adding user updates, and every time it's *only* for your benefit and not ours, is really stupid, and it's ticking everyone off.
At least adding something we like that gains you money, makes us happy as well. Site themes and crap like that don't even make us happy, and they don't gain you money. There is like, maybe a 3% increase in happiness, - probably less, - and that's blocked by the 20% or more that don't like it. Usually the rest are neutral.
Seriously, stop adding crappy, useless updates, and do something good for once. We loved the group system, we loved the forums, we loved user ads and the trade system, the catalog, limiteds, all those. We don't give a crap if you want to make the site look like Windows 8, we don't care, we'd rather you spend your time doing something that benefits us all.
Just do it.
And now I shall wait for people to bring up the private servers, and how that was a user idea...
Guess what they did to it? They made it a paid service.
And the fact that it was one update out of how-many we didn't like is really sad, and irritating. |

They are bad updates.
They're all just a bunch of layout updates which do absolutely nothing but enrage us due to the fact that as soon as we get used to a new one, they change it.
They're bad in terms of logic and what they gain, not in terms of opinion. As I said, barely anyone likes those updates.
And, what do you mean "TL;DR much"? It wasn't even that long...

Yeah.
Price floor was just plain crap.
For the first several months, designers actually got less income because of the countless riots for months after.
Now that people calmed down, they're getting more, but everyone is either NBC and looks like a noob(Ex: Me), or has BC.
Yay, more money for ROBLOX and less happiness for us!
That only proves my point further.
And as for the theme changes...
They aren't specifically bad, except for the fact that it angers almost half of ROBLOX every time it happens, and it doesn't gain anything.
Why pay their devs for useless updates? Pay them for something that gains both us happiness, and them money. There have been thousands of ideas for that here on the forum, and rarely is one added; and when they are, it's because it gains them a crap load of cash.

How do you know if players actually successfully boycotted? They most likely didn't. There income probably never changed it's constants.

Are you talking about DevEx? DevEx is a great feature for ROBLOX, there's nothing wrong with it. It's restrictions and ruling isn't unfair at all. |

Were you even there? The forums were ravaged with complaints, people were wearing all those, "I got this shirt for FREE" shirts, groups were being created, games against it, people were quitting, almost nobody that wasn't BC actually bought any clothing, and even then I saw OBC players who said after their OBC expired they were going to quit, or at least never buy clothing again.

It isn't only because of nostalgia; most of the theme updates are crap.
I mean, look at this recent homepage update, it just made everything worse.
I mean, think about it; all the options are separated, everything is huge, you can't see everything at once like you used to, your best friends and recently played games are starring you in the face when you go there, and you can't even go to the long list of recently played games with one click like you used to.
The only thing it accomplished was being an eyesore and looking like Windows 8, which half the world that knows about it hates(ooh yay I don't have proof flame me).

No... Barely anyone uses DevEx except hardcore devs anyway, why would I care?
I'm talking about almost every update they add that has been suggested here on the forums.
Plus, yes, DevEx is a good example of that. Sure, it gains us money, but it was for the sole purpose of having people pay for OBC more, and therefore gains them, as I said, "a crap load of cash."
Sure, it makes us happy, but a small portion. Make something a *large* portion likes, and benefits

I saw OBC devs and traders complaining. ;-;
Plus, there were hundreds of designers complaining because they knew copying rates would go up, as well as the fact less people bought their clothing, and back then most people designed because they liked it, or liked seeing people wear their clothes.

Most of the silent majority didn't do any boycotting or even didn't mind, and I was on the forums at the time and played more places than I do now. It's the vocal minority that went on the main forums (which were RT, OT and S&I at the time) and acted as if absolutely everyone did so. |

There was still a large portion that did, and many developers complained about how they weren't getting as much money because of it.
