The Force exists in everything. It is in the air, and it penetrates all living things. It binds the universe together, and is created by life. It is what fuels the powers of the Jedi and Sith alike, allowing them to do things the average man can not. Compared to the amount of the unskilled, there are very few capable of such powers, yet the ones that do are able to do marvelous things.
Despite the Light Side of the Force, there is something much darker at hand. The Dark Side of the force is driven by emotions such as anger, lust, and hate, while the Light Side is normally used for more peaceful actions. While a large amount of Force users use the Light Side, there is an entirely different society of Force users, Force users known as the Sith lords.
It all started long ago, started by former Jedi that once believed in the Light Side of the Force, however soon discovered the Dark Side, and they chose to embrace it. They used their emotions like anger to fuel their Force powers and assist in their efforts to rid the world of the Jedi. Yet the Jedi were powerful and plentiful, and the Dark Jedi were exiled, and brought to uncharted worlds.
While the Jedi hoped that their exile would help them realize the error of their ways and help them come back to the Light, they were quite incorrect. Instead, the Dark Jedi used this to fuel their anger and continue to grow in their powers. This is the point in time where the Dark Jedi gained their present dubbing, the Sith.
The Dark Jedi met another race of humanoid beings known as the Sith, who were marveled by the strangers' advanced technology and Force powers, and the Dark Jedi were respected as Gods, believed to be a higher being, a higher being that could wipe out their entire race if they so chose.
After many years and years of spending time with the Sith, and after the fall of the Sith empire, the Dark Jedi became known as the Sith Lords, users of the Force that fueled their Force powers with anger, with hate, with lust.
