I don't like it, I van tell a long story, so here it goes.
We had this assignment, and one of the questions was "Fact or opinion? 'Rap is the best music ever'" Sidney put down "Fact" he said "if you ask anyone in the world they will most likely say 'yes'" So then i said "I crossed off best and out in worst" (which is what I did)

well i just hate rap and i dont care what you guys say is good about rap cus it sucks it really does i mean all the music videoos have half naked girls in all of them but its just sick i mean dont get me wrong some of them are hott but its pasetic that they would do that just to make what 100 bucks an let the other guy make millions of of them |

You guys are haterz, do you even listen to what rappers say in their songs? Just because it doesnt sound right doesnt mean it isnt meaningfull >.<
And just because you hate rap still doesn't mean its the worst ever. Your opinion, and yes, some guy really suck *cough*Soulja Boy*cough* But some are good. Tupac for example, was the biggest rapper alive until Suge killed him.
So really... Think about rock for a moment. Yes, its good, but then listen to rock metal or sumthing. Type in "Slipknot" on Youtube and prepare to cover your ears. I'd rather listen to my music of choice (rap/hip-hop) then that band. They suck!
And rap isn't as good as hip-hop, as you all will agree, of course. However, hip-hop has no meaning such as rap. For example, in one of Chamillionaire's songs, he complains the George W. Bush is comitting his country's suicide by sending more soldiers into iraq.
So what is more meaningfull? This horrible slipknot music or the truth about the government and things that are occuring around the world? Rap, the most meaningfull music alive.

Avenged Sevenfold's songs, they're a newer band, they have meaning. And the songs are great, M. Shadows is a really good writer.
I don't really have anything against rap, we just all like our own different genres of music.
And Slipknot wouldn't hurt mah ears 'cause I'm a rocker. >:3

I do have to admit, some new rappers have no talent live, or no talent behind the mic either. Soulja Boy, bad. Old rappers such a Tupac, good.
However, some people just prefer to listen to rap because of the background beat or the rythym. I find its true, but thats not rap is about.

This is to k9chief! I'd rather listen to Slipknot then any rap or hip-hop! why? well first I think the lyrics are better becasue they dont just write about what they want like fame, girls, money, ect. Slipknot atleast picks something to write about! |

There are some uplifting rappers, but the vast majority of it promotes violence and hedonism. Even some of the uplifting songs are laden with profanity and racial epithets for shock value. I think that if there was more a focus on improving one's lot in life and not on profiting materially at the expense of others, I might like rap. |
