ROBLOX's advertising system seems to lagging behind the advancement of the rest of the features found within ROBLOX. I feel it leaves much to be desired and should definitely be a feature that is rehauled and redeveloped during the year 2015 as it could be more of a great tool for developers than it is already. In this proposal I will discuss various ideas but obviously specifics can be tweaked and changed so don't hate the idea because you don't like one or two words in it, if you like the general jist of it then please support me with this proposal.
1. Geo-Targeting
Let us pretend for a minute I own a new group or game based around America. Predominantely, American people will be interested in my creation. Obviously, there are exceptions but the majority will be interested in games and groups related to their own country. If I was this person, I would like to be able to set up an advertising campaign that only shows to Americans. Therefore, I have geographically targeted my advertising to one country so only they will see my advertisement. This means I will gain more conversions from my advertisement. This feature isn't the most complex of features although people using proxies may find themsleves receiving advertisements targeted to another country. I would also suggest you pay a slight ROBUX Fee if you geo-target your advertisment.
2. Don't Appear To Friends
If I have made a game, I am likely to tell my friends about it. Henceforth, I do not want them to see my advertisement as it is waste of my tickets. A checkbox feature that prevents users on my friend list seeing my advertisement would just be a little extra feature that would generally improve the advertisement system. It means I'm getting more for my money.
3. Pay Per Impression
Estimated views are okay but there is a chance I'll get less views than estimated. So, why not allow users to set how many tickets they are willing to spend and each ticket equates to a certain number of views. If not all of these tickets are spent during the chosen timeframe (see latter idea) then they shall be refunded to the user so they can then use it for a future advertisement. This means advertising is less a game of chance and more a solid investment for the future of your game.
4. Campaigns
I have been mentioning the word 'campaign', this is because I believe advertisements should be organised into campaigns. You can start a campaign, give it a title and when it is over, move it into an archive so it is out of sight. However, you will be allowed to revive a campaign from your archive. This will allow users to have an organised advertisement page that is easy to discern. Also, this opens the doors to new features such as paying for advertisements in the campaign as a whole. This would mean I could have 10 different advertisement images for the same game but I would pay for them as one or I could pay for them seperately.
5. Time Frame
Setting a time frame for advertisement campaigns would improve the users control over their advertisements. Say, I didn't want a quick burst of views but wanted a steady influx of views over a week I could set my advertisement to be spread out over a week. This means the system would estimate how many views I'd get for the tickets I spent then divide them by the number of days I want my campaign to run for.
6. Pay Per Click
You feel very unsatisfied if you devote your time and effort into producing an advertisement only for it to reamin unclicked. Although, paying for your impressions not clicks encourages higher quality advertisements to be made it does put off some advertisers and decreases the use of the system. This is why I believe you should be able to pay for every click your advertisement receives after allocating _ Robux to the advertisement. My suggested rate would be 1 Robux per click. This would mean the advertiser truly feels like they got their money's worth.
7. Conversion Statistics
I hate not knowing how many people that clicked my advertisement went on to play my game, join my group, purchase my clothing. Due to this, I would suggest that as part of the advertisement system conversion statistics would be created. These statistics would allow the advertiser to see how many people that clicked their advertisment played their game, joined their group, purchased their clothing and how long they played the game for plus if they liked it or disliked it. Also, it would tell you if the user who joined your group from your advertisement purchased anything from the group store within the first 24 hours after clicking the advertisement or bought a game pass from the game they found through an advertisement in the same 24 hour time frame.
8. Advertising User Profiles
User Profiles are going to become a larger feature of the game now followers have been introduced and my idea to utilize this update would be to allow users to advertise their profile page to the rest of the ROBLOX Community. Users who do this could use their profile blurb as a way of converting people who clicked their advertisement to play their games, purchase their items or join their groups. This would benefit game developers who posses a multitude of games or designers who have created a plethora of clothing items so they don't have to advertise them one by one. It would also lead to an increased use of the follow feature as users who clicked on the advertisement who are interested in that user will follow them to keep track of future creations. One further use of this feature that comes to mind is ROBLOXians who wish to trade items could advertise that they would like to trade items with other users and maybe in their advertisement display some of their limiteds. This would mean the user would get more trades and is therefore more likely to get one they like.
I may have future ideas that I will post at a latter date so to any ROBLOX Staff reading this, if you are interested in this idea than check through the thread for any extensions to the idea please.
I hope everyone likes the idea and will help support it. If you don't have the patience to read this all I'll have an extreme TL;DR version beneath. |

~ TL;DR Version ~
# I'd recommend reading it fully but if you do not wish to do so here it goes. #
- Geo-Targeting (advertise to specific nationalities)
- Don't Appear To Friends (adverts don't show to friends)
- Pay Per Impression (pay for each impression exactly, not roughly)
- Campaigns (group similar advertisements into campaigns)
- Time Frame (have a quick burst of views or spread them out)
- Pay Per Click (optional feature to pay per click at a higher rate)
- Conversion Statistics (see what users who clicked your advertisement did on what you advertised)
- Advertising User Profiles (advertise your profile page) |

Thanks. I just threw a bunch of ideas together. Generally, I just want to see the Advertisement System revamped and improved. |

>1 Robux per click
I agree with most of everything else, but this would ruin ROBUX more than it already is.
2 - 5 tickets is a good rate.

Besides pay per click (which could be worked on a bit), this is genius, I support entirely |

Iron, are you aware I was meaning the advertiser pays per click they get? Sorry if I wasn't clear.
Monkey, thank you very much. I appreicate the support, it isn't often someone refers to one of my creations/ideas as 'genius'. :3 |

Oh, I thought they got paid FOR how many clicks they got.
Eh, I'm still a bit on the fence about that one. I don't know how well this would work out, but I think users should choose how they want to pay for an ad: they can either pay per impression or click.
Just an idea.

Many thanks Lazaro, good sir. |

btw
the reason why I did not like it is because it is basically a fan group (yes, yes, followers update makes your profile a fan group) but it would not be very useful as the person could make a FAN group, then whenever they asked a question instead of putting it as their status and getting no immediate feedback unless they have PM on (which, if they're famous, they will get spam and not be able to really see the other "good" messages) but on the group wall, you would be able to receive feedback in a small time period. |

I guess but I was under the impression further changes to profiles are going to be made? |

Wow. Pretty amazing, actually. I disagree with point 8 however, as people who follow others who make games/items will most likely find the item first, then follow the owner. Seeing an ad for a profile is much less likely to get me to follow that person than if I had seen an ad for the item first. I suppose either way has the same result, but I think item to profile has a higher follow chance than trying to depend on profile to item.
Now, concerning your "pay a robux per click" thing. I agree with that, but I see a potential issue. Suppose I put up 10,000 tickets to have an ad run, but I only have a little bit of robux, say ten. After the first ten people click, what happens then? My money is exhausted, and I can't pay for any more people to click the ad.
Those are my only concerns. I really like this idea.

Thank you for your support. However, I'd like to add that Pay Per Robux doesn't work like that, you wouldn't pay tickets and robux. You'd pay one or another. |

Ah, I see. However, the question does remain as to what happens when funs run out.

But if I pay X amount of currency for impressions in a 24-hour period but run out of currency before that period is over, then I've been somewhat jipped. Now true, that is bad money management on my part, but it still isn't a great system.
