What this means is that your rank in the central division (The Black Star Organization) corresponds to the highest rank you have earned across all divisions. For example, if you were a 【MR】Tactician in the military division, you would be a 【MR】Chief Specialist in the central division. However, if you earned the rank 【MR】Chief Specialist through a different division, you would NOT be a 【MR】Tactician in the military division. Your highest rank earned is always used to determine your central division rank. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ [3] How To Earn Promotions The following tips, if used consistently, guarantee you an eventual promotion to the next rank. •Read and follow the group rules at all times. •If people breaking the rules are not caught, report them to UniversalBlackStar by PM. •Act maturely and professionally. •Use proper spelling and grammar. •Be active and participate in group events often. •Show skill, dedication and leadership. NOTES: To become an Elected Representative, you need to become a candidate and be elected by the members (see below). To become an Appointed Representative you need to be chosen by the Crown Council (see below). If, despite following all of these, you have not been promoted in a month or more, you are entitled to send one, and ONLY one, promotion request to UniversalBlackStar by PM. If you lie even once in this PM you will be exiled, beware. This measure is intended to prevent corruption and favoritism as well as to ensure the promotion/reward system is functioning correctly. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ [4] The Ranks This section covers all of the Organization's CENTRAL DIVISION ranks and are a GENERAL GUIDELINE. For specific information on how a division's ranking system works (which might be different), see the guide for that division. -------------------------------------------- RECRUITS 【----】Recruit •Recruits are not official members of the Organization. This means that they are treated the same as Neutral/Unidentified. They're also not allowed to post on the group wall. •To be promoted to Enlist, follow the Recruit Advancement Guide: [Link To Be Posted] -------------------------------------------- OPERATIVE RANKS 【LR】【LR】Enlist to 【LR】Senior Operative •The Operative ranks are the first step in your career with the Black Star Organization. Operatives are essentially cadets/in-training who are learning the ways and methods of the Organization. •Enlists+ are allowed and encouraged to chat on the group wall and participate in most group activities. •Despite being 'low-ranking', all members are worthy of respect. We do not tolerate mistreatment of others based on ranking differences. •To be promoted at this rank, participate and make an effort at group events in the division of your choice. -------------------------------------------- SPECIALIST RANKS 【MR】【MR】Specialist to 【MR】Chief Specialist •When you advance to the first 【MR】, you are now considered a Specialist in that division. You have passed basic training and are now more respected and trusted as a member. •If no HRs are currently present, the highest-ranked MRs at a group event are in charge of the server until the HRs show up/return. •Promotions are now more difficult to obtain. In addition to regular participation, you must show skill, dedication and leadership to get promoted at a MR. If you follow all of the tips in section 3 you are guaranteed to be promoted eventually. -------------------------------------------- OFFICER RANKS 【HR】【HR】Coordinator to 【HR】Executive •The Officer Ranks are reserved for members who have been proved themselves worthy to hold leadership positions in the Organization. •Coordinators+ are allowed to host official group events and make announcements using the group shout, as well as promote/demote LRs and MRs. •You are now a figure of authority and are allowed to give orders and expect to see them followed. Note that the host of a group event is the one in charge, and higher-ranking members may only intervene if the host is not properly behaving. •Expect a longer wait between promotions at a HR level. You will have to host events regularly, behave professionally and show good leadership abilities to advance further. •HRs are allowed to participate in elections. See the Elections Guide. -------------------------------------------- ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES 【EP】【EP】Division Representative & 【EP】Division Head •In order to give the members of the Organization power in decision-making, each division will have a number of elected representatives who will meet and make decisions along with representatives from the Crown Council. Together they will lead the division. •To advance further in the group beyond 【HR】Executive, you will need to succeed in an election. •Elected representatives represent the members and their desires. Their tasks are to oversee the division, make decisions on its behalf and ensure that it is running smoothly. To help with this they are given the ability to promote/demote all members of the division, including HRs. They are also still expected to host group events in most cases. •The Division Head watches over the other representatives and has a number of added decision-making abilities. He is the head of the members' representation. •Elected positions last for 2 months, after which a re-election will be held. •For information on how elections work or to become a candidate, see the Elections Guide. [Link To Be Posted] -------------------------------------------- APPOINTED REPRESENTATIVES 【AP】【AP】Commissioner & 【AP】Lead Commissioner •To safeguard against corruption and represent the group's leadership, the Commissioners are appointed to oversee and manage each division on the Crown Council's behalf. •If you are a particularly worthy elected candidate, the Crown Council may decide to offer you an appointed position. Commissioners+ are selected by the Crown Council and are invitation-only; you cannot apply for them. •Commissioners participate in decision-making meetings, may host group events and in general are overseers for the division on behalf of the leadership. They are given additional oversight and disciplinary powers to ensure the group runs smoothly. •The Lead Commissioner(s) are in charge of all Commissioners and oversee every division. It is a demanding position that requires a lot of responsibility, and thus there will only be a few people who occupy it. •Appointed positions last for 4 months, after which a private election among the Crown Council will be held. -------------------------------------------- LEADERSHIP 【LDR】【LDR】Crown Council & 【LDR】Commander •The Crown Council is composed of only the absolute most trusted and experienced leaders of the Organization. They oversee the entire organization's proceedings and are the only ones with the ability to exile, along with numerous other abilities. It takes a lot of dedication, talent and hard work to reach this position. •Crown Council positions are permanently appointed, though Crown Council members can still be removed for certain acts such as treason (though it is highly unlikely). •The Crown Council has full authority in all proceedings and their decisions may not be challenged except in cases of grave misconduct (appeal to the Commander). •The Commander is the omnipotent leader of the Organization. If the Commander is currently absent, the 2IC is in charge during his absence, then the 3IC and so on. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ [5] Conclusion This guide was intended to answer any and all question about the BSO's general ranking system.
