Once there was a politician and a preacher...
They lived their lives to the fullest, doing their jobs, until they reached their death beds and passed.
When they were together at heavens gate, they saw St. Peter, who took them in and said "let me show you to your quarters where you will live eternity!"
First stop was an old concrete room. It had a cheap little bed, one room, and a small wooden table and a toilet and a sink. "This is where you will be staying!" said St. Peter to the priest.
As the preacher settled in, St. Peter and the politician moved on...
The politician grew nervous thinking to himself, "if that is what the priest gets, I am scared to see what I will get..."
When they stop at the next place, St. Peter says, "and this is where you will stay!" to the politician.
It's a massive and beautiful mansion, with lots of land, and beautiful lawns and gardens. Fountains and sunshine. There are servants everywhere tending the golden palace.
The politician feels guilty, looks to St. Peter and says, "With all do respect, St. Peter, the preacher has lived a much better and holier life than I. How is it that he receives such a small little place, while I receive all of this?"
St. Peter, with a look of confusion, looks at the politician and says,
"You don't seem to understand. We get thousands of priests and preachers coming to heaven every day. But this is the first time we have ever gotten a politician!"
