When you are walking on some type of materials. Each material have different type of walking sound such like.
Grass-A grass walking type going like crunch crunch when you walk on it.
Ice- When you walk on it it goes like cracking on it.
Foil- A sound like metal is getting wrapped up.
Planks- A wood type that goes like this loud thumping.
Metal- A loud echo walking.
Plastic- Goes like normal walking but with a soft walking sound.
Water- You swim in it but makes a splashing sound(Already Made)
Sand- A swift sound of tinkling sand thump.
See what I am saying? If roblox did make it, it would be amazing.
Support if this will be cool to be made. |

That would be hard because there are tons and tons of blocks on roblox and roblox people arnt gonna make sounds for all of them. |
|
|
SUPPORT, ROBLOX DOES NOT CARE HOW HARD |
|
|
Easily scriptable, but very expensive.
... |
|
|
How so scriptable i don't see you can do it. Btw it actually the best idea. Anytime sooner it will reach the mods and they will see it... After all I am the one who suggested Better materials. And they made it. |
|
|
what this has already been scripted |

very, very easy to script.
guess whos back |
|
|
If it is easy to scripatable then why don't i see you can't do it. Tell me that then? So you can't do it? BTW you have to spend more than hundreds of robuxs to make them sounds. If roblox made it then we don't even have to pay 1200 robuxs for every material sounds like. |
|
|
ok lets go over the basics for scripting
a block on touch function
:play()
you did it!
but that is the laggier solution |
|
|
I guess that would be cool... |
|
|
This.
--localscript
local wood = Instance.new("Sound", workspace)
wood.SoundId = ... -- copy and paste this except rename the variable and change the soundid
local rl = game.Players.LocalPlayer.Character:FindFirstChild("Right Leg")
rl.Touched:connect(function(hit)
if hit.Name == "Torso" or hit.Name == "Left Leg" then
wait(.1)
elseif hit.Material == Enum.Material.Wood then -- copy and paste this but use the different material sounds
wood:Play()
... |
|
|
Its a long one, but quite simple to make
... |
|

local wood = Instance.new("Sound", workspace)
wood.SoundId = ... -- copy and paste this except rename the variable and change the soundid
local rl = game.Players.LocalPlayer.Character:FindFirstChild("Right Leg")

wait(.1)
elseif hit.Material == Enum.Material.Wood then -- copy and paste this but use the different material sounds
wood:Play()
elseif hit.Material == Enum.Material.Slate then -- same as last time except change the sound
SlateSound:Play() -- you have to define slatesound and its id
end
forgot the end

"Btw it actually the best idea"
That is very subjective, also including the fact you were debunked.
It is scriptable, and actually easy.
All you need to do is call upon the material of a brick that somebody is walking on with onTouch (correct me if I'm wrong) and insert a custom sound.
It's actually quite simple.

But one huge problem. Only 93% of players in roblox doenst know how to script. |

ROBLOX have stated that they won't add features if those features are easily scriptable by game creators, which they are. Also, games can have thousands and thousands of bricks, so imagine having to add an individual sound to every single brick. It would take up way too much space, both on ROBLOX's servers, and would be tough on your PC, and awful if you have slow internet. |
