i'm going with nu metal, mostly because i absolutely love the 1998-2004 time period in general and although both can be horrible at times, nu metal at least has a very industrial sound with it. metalcore is so samey, there are some really great albums but they are few and far between (to be fair the same thing applies to nu metal). the fall of ideals, alive or just breathing, there is a hell, shadows are security, as daylight dies, all those come to mind. this is coming from someone who ignores critics and elitists. i'll listen to bring me the horizon or suicide silence just as often as i'll listen to arsis, insomnium, or the black dahlia murder. "Let's just settle it out as all metal is bad." plz
