Let me give you people a scenario that recently happened to me.
Of course, since I have a desirable username, there's no doubt that people will ask for my account. A few weeks ago, I received a message from someone asking to trade accounts with me. I rejected his offer and logged off for a few days.
When I came back, I saw that I had been banned for "scamming" for a day because of that message.
I sent ROBLOX an email asking for them to erase the ban from my history, but they basically said that the ban had already expired so they didn't have to assist me with the issue any further. I ended up asking gordonrox about it, but he said that they've never been able to erase bans from your history. It's very odd because I've had this done before, and I didn't have to even request it.
So now, I have a ban in my history that will always prevent me from using features such as DevEx even though I've never scammed anyone before.
I propose that the appeals team does all of the following:
A. Review bans after they've expired.
B. Begin to edit moderation history so that any bans ruled unjust can be cleared.
C. Keep better track of what "scams" a user performed if they were banned for such, because mods tend to ban people as a "just in case" thing when it comes to scamming. |
