Name Of Tribe: The Lotus Founder Name: Rizi Loz, translates from their language into Leonardo. Early Specialty: Physical superiority gives them an advantage when engaging in melee combat with other humans. You overlook your small band. They are cold and hungry. You must settle down, for the good of your peoples. You are currently in a very large grassland field, streching for miles in every direction. You know of a seemingly impenetrable mountain range to the far west, and there is a desolate frozen tundra to the north. To the east there are large swaths of forests, and you have heard rumours of a lake so big, that you cannot see the end. The lake is also rather salty. To the south there is a swampland massive and treacherous. Do you stay in the grassland, or do you move to another location to settle?

Before we set off to the place I decide of settling, I give my people a small speech in hopes of getting them to be a bit more eager to move. I promise a life different, where we are never cold or hungry, and we are practically swimming in meats and other types of foods. Hoping that it would come true, I begin to head off towards the forest to settle there. The trees would allow for a natural source of building materials, as well as there hopefully being fruits such as apples to grow on some of the trees.

Your people pick themselves back up, seemingly empowered by your speech. You march for miles, eventually you make it to the forest. It is very calm and peaceful, and you see large amounts of berry bushes right off the bat. Do you continue marching, or stop at the very beginning of the forest?

I go a bit further inwards, however I do not want to get too far from the berries. Those would prove to be of great use.

You enter the forest, and you can just hardly see the grasslands that you came from in the distance. Are you sure this is where you and your people will finally settle down?

I'm quite sure. We're near enough food and building supplies. The only issue now is water, but hopefully we'll find a spring nearby, or perhaps some apples to provide at least a decent amount of hydration.

Your people put down their packs and explore the near area. They then come back and are sitting in a large circle in the dirt. Now you take command and lead your peoples.

Send a small group of people to collect the berries, while I and half of us begin taking branches, rocks, leaves, etc in order to set up a fire to heat us up during the night. The rest look for any animals that we could potentially domesticate/hunt.

You send some people out, and they are last seen collecting berrys. Your group builds a firepit, and gather enough branches and leaves to fuel a fire for many nights. The rest scout around the forest. They report of many large deer-like creature. They have also spotted several bears, which is frightening, as bears should be rather rare, solo, creatures. There are also several wolf dens, or atleast your scouts think that it is a wolf den, they are not sure.

That's worrying. We'll need to forge some sorts of tools soon to kill the animals. For now, make basic spears/clubs out of some spare branches so we could go hunting if we ever get a taste for meat.

Your task your people to create weapons, and they do so. They have managed to make 10 wooden clubs and 5 very poorly built spears consisting of a long stick with a sharp rock wrapped to it using animal intestines. The sun is beginnning to set, however you still have a little time before it is night. (The time per day will advance as the era calls for, for now it is at a couple hours a post, then one day, and even one week or month when you get to a very large civilization, unless you want different)

Feast on the berries for the night, and once our people begin to wake go hunting. People will be armed with weapons, and they'll take turns guarding our area and sleeping in order to ensure that no other people or animals attempt to harm us. When we wake, send some to go hunting, while others begin growing more berries.

Your people are well fed, however they ate around 1/4 of the berries. Your people make it through to day without being killed, and you send people out to gather more food. The people gather many more berries, and the hunters spear down a deer and a rabbit and drag them back to camp.

Skin the animals to use them for really anything. Lay the skins on the ground, and put the meat on them. Surround the skins with any sticks left, and try to build a small structure in order to prevent animals from taking our food. Cook the meat when necessary. Cut some of the meat off, and head towards the meat den. Perhaps we could attempt at domestication?

You do so. You add a large amount of meat to your food pile. You could try to domesticate, however you would have to capture and breed the animals. It might be a good idea.

Send four people armed with our best weapons to watch the den. If a lone wolf/two wolves leave, they are to engage them when they get far enough from the den to where it would take time for the other wolves to arrive should they howl.

Your men put down 2 wolves. They are unconcious, with one bleeding profusely from its thigh. One of your guy lost 2 fingers in the fight, and has it wrapped with leaves. Another has a serious wound emerging from his thigh.
birm123
#160118488Monday, April 13, 2015 11:32 PM GMT

Treat their wounds best we can. Build a structure that can help keep the wolves secluded from our people. Someone will watch them, meat in hand, ready to feed him in hopes of calming them down. Also have bones. The person trying to tame them are different from the ones that knocked them unconscious.

You wrap their wounds the most you can. Your people also build a small shelter and begin to rehabilitate the wolves. Late that night, a group of people are spotted looking at your village. They wear loinclothes of animal hide and run when confronted. VILLAGE: Population: Humans: 20 Wolves: 2 Dirt Pit, wolf home.

Don't do anything about the people until we learn more about them, but tell our people to stay alert. Continue with our shifts. So have the wolves been domesticated or are they still going to rip our hands off?
abuca222
#160133935Tuesday, April 14, 2015 2:57 AM GMT

The wolves are used to you, however it is not very safe to go into their corral. They are still a little hostile. The people come back every night, and they watch for hours at a time.

#160134168Tuesday, April 14, 2015 3:01 AM GMT

Continue training the wolves. Keep close tabs on our supplies and people to make sure thu don't steal or kill.
abuca222
#160134235Tuesday, April 14, 2015 3:02 AM GMT

The people never get close enough to steal anything. The wolves are rather tame, however it wouldnt be completely safe to have them roam around. They get rather excited when they smell meat, and occasionaly, they attack a human.
