I would say Code Geass, but it isn't off the wall and most if not all anime fans have watched it, but I thought it was awesome, and if you haven't watched it, check it out.

In my opinion, the second season is better, but it really depends on tastes, but the knightmare frames get cooler.

Pineapples, there are no drawbacks to watching anime - it's an entertaining medium much like cartoons, broadcasted sporting events, and what have you. Also, there's no need to worry about me as far as my tendency to watch a lot of anime goes..
