Over time, my inbox has been getting cluttered. There are messages of paramount importance next to messages that are worthless. Similarly, it is very inefficient to send the same message to multiple people. I would also like to send an official message from my group to an individual. I believe folders, trash, messaging lists, and group messages would help address these issues.
ABSTRACT:
- the ability to make folders and move messages into them (like mail programs)
- an added trash folder to effectively delete messages instead of archiving them
- the ability to create a "mailing list" to send a mass message to multiple people at once
- the ability to send messages on behalf of a group to an individual
- a system to help combat further spam
ELABORATE:
In a conventional mail program, you can make folders to sort out your mail. There should be a feature similar to that added to Roblox. For example, if you have an important message from someone in your group, you could move that to its designated folder. Folders would help us sort important messages from unimportant ones.
Also in mail programs, there is a trash folder. Most of us probably archive messages to get rid of them. I believe a trash folder would let us get rid of messages from our inbox but allow us to get it back in case you need it in the future. Just like mails, you can empty your trash.
Messaging lists would be efficient in sending messages to multiple people at once. For example, if you wanted to send the same message to a few managers in your group, you would have to painstakingly copy and paste the same message numerous times to send to each person. This is highly inefficient. In some mail programs, such as Gmail, users can create a list of addresses they wish to send future mails to. For example, you could create a list of the usernames of the managers in your group and send messages to everyone at once. The messaging lists feature should be tied into groups. For instance, you can allow certain ranks to mass message to others in the group. This would also cut down on spam.
There is always a potential for spam. Spam can be addressed by limiting the amount of times a mass message can be sent in a fixed period of time. For example, one mass message per 30 minutes, etc. If the messaging lists feature was implemented in groups, group owners can set privileges for other ranks to allow them to use the feature to send mass messages to others in the group.
Group messages would improve the process of a group contacting a specific person. Many groups create a separate account to send official messages, often with the username as the group's name. For example, my group (Stamper Society), used to have a separate account used for official messages, StamperSociety. With this feature, group owners or managers can send a message to a specific individual on behalf of the group. For example, to inform a person of their promotion or demotion, a group owner or manager can send a message to that person on behalf of the group. Instead of seeing the message from the sender's name, they would see it primarily from the group's name. A similar feature is implemented into group stores, where a piece of clothing's creator is set to the group's name and a "modified by" field is set to the user who modified it. Similarly, in the group messaging feature, the user who sent the message can be displayed as a secondary source underneath the group's name. This would also help in reporting abuse, as moderators would know who the message came from.
I believe these features will help improve the process of writing messages and messaging in groups. |

I would think the minutes be take down a bit. Maybe down to 20.
And I'd be willing to add that along with Group owner giving someone the ability to send a mass message, also give them a way to set their time per message.
So like if they were to send a message, you could Click "Settings on Member" and there would be a scroll down for time and then another scroll down for how many minutes per mass message.

I was just using "per 30 minutes" as an example. I like your idea of being able to configure the frequency of mass message sending. I think there should be a minimum and maximum amount of minutes to set for that feature. For example, the minimum would be every 10 minutes and the maximum would be every two hours. |
