Again, if Nickelback WASN'T overrated and WASN'T popular, then explain why they always sell out the events they do? Also, please explain why some of their albums went platinum?

>i didn't say nickelback wasn't popular. My point exactly. They don't deserve to be popular which gives them attention they don't deserve. Therefore that counts them as overrated.

They've been inactive for damn near 5 years. They just came back in September. They were overrated back in 2008 but now they've decreased in popularity.

Nirvana is mainly a phase. I don't think anyone generally cares that much for 'em. I'm just wondering why the hell the surviving band members toured with Lorde of all people.

"They've been inactive for damn near 5 years. They just came back in September. 'Nirvana is overrated simply because they are over-played and over-hyped. Their songs, as described by the band, are pop songs with heavy riffs. Everyone says "Kurt is such a visionary" or "Nirvana is so badass" when they can't even state what their songs are about. Why the hell do you think they wrote "In Bloom"? Since this obviously will not appease you, I'll break my claim down even further. They are overplayed because of how popular their songs are. A majority of the Nirvana songs you hear on the radio are from their album "Nevermind" which is pretty overrated in itself. The songs are no better than any other alternative album you'd hear in todays world. Somber tone and topics dealing with love and substance abuse is no different than any other Seether song. Over hyped is simple. As previously stated, everyone praises this dude way too much. "Kurt was such a rebel. He insulted MTV!" or "Nirvana symbolizes rock as a whole." Less we forget the infamous quote "If it's illegal to rock and roll then throw my ass in jail." How many times do you hear that quote? Plus the only reason Nirvana was famous was because they put more focus on their chorus and melody.' This is all your trashy opinion. They aren't exactly overplayed or overhyped, I don't think I've heard a Nirvana song on any big radio in ages. And Nirvana in my opinion is better than any other alternative band out there, I mean all of them are probably influenced by Nirvana so that says something. And who cares of he insulted MTV? MTV is garbage so I support him in that. Also, I've never heard people say any of that stuff about Kurt because he clearly isn't rock and roll? There a popular because there a good band and deserve nothing less. Another thing is that you say Nirvana was famous for focusing on their chorus like there the only band that do it when in reality pretty much every other band does it.

And don't talk about how nobody cares for Nirvana anymore when in reality. Nirvana is pretty relevant to millions where you're literally relevant to nobody.

The only Nirvana song that actually carries any meaning would be between "In Bloom" or "Heart Shaped Box". In Bloom has a dual meaning having to do with 99% of Nirvana's fanbase not knowing what their songs are about. The other meaning has to deal with someone who was abused as a child. Heart Shaped Box pretty much relays all of Kurts feelings about his life. You're correct on it being "my trashy opinion" but you can't tell me you haven't noticed any of the topics I have stated. The only Nirvana member relevant is David Grohl who is apart of a highly overrated post-grunge/alternative band. His songs are even more generic than Nickelback. Less we forget they performed at the iheart radio music festival, which is the apitamy of trash. Nirvana is more of a fashion statement than a band anyway. Sure, bands are influenced by Nirvana but that doesn't mean they model themselves after them. They probably just put more focus into their melody because of it. Since, after all, is what the average music listener cares about. Besides, Kurt isn't some 'musical god' or some revolutionary figure. All he did was bring the grunge and alternative genre into pop culture. If anyone deserved that fame it should've been R.E.M who was one of the first alternative bands. They carry more talent in their index finger than Kurt carries in his tour bus. I know R.E.M has decent exposure but they deserved the acclaim he had. Besides, the only thing Kurt proved was he cracks under attention. If he didn't want attention then he shouldn't be in a band. You can say all the crap you want on how it was "an artistic outlet" or "he was relaying a message" but you know it's fabrication. Perhaps you should rethink your stance on Nirvana. Once your band gets desperate enough to play with Lorde, you know you've hit rock bottom.
