How to Mirror union objects?

Hello, I'm trying to build an Pancor Jackhammer weapon (Using Solid Modelling) but how do you mirror parts? And is it possible to mirror union parts? I need to know how to do so because I need the weapon to look symmetrical! If anyone could suggest me how to mirror parts, it would be appreciated.
