So i saw this thread where some noob suggested free changing of names, and i don't agree with it of course but since, i kind of think idea of being able to change your name for free is good, so i updated this idea a little.
Being able to change your name for free, but every 6-8 months, it'll prevent spamming names and changing every minute, it'll be a good change for people with bad names, its a good update overall. |

Whilst restricting name changes to once every 6-8 months would 'prevent' abuse of free name changes, it's just not a realistic change for ROBLOX to implement.
1) Removal of the cost removes any form of financial deterrent - Users actually put thought into their new name before doing it due to the financial implications. Allowing a free name change would mean that some users would regret their new name, but would be stuck with it for 6-8 months (or have to cough up 1kR$).
2) Every time a user changes their username, their current and previous usernames are locked from use. If you allow every user to change their username every 6-8 months, and a "ton of users" take advantage of this, you'll have people hogging several names on one account.
The system as-is is fair. The cost is in line with a range of other companies which allow name changes and should remain that way. |
