I think with it being small it might not be the best. I suggest, because the island itself is huge, to make a part of the island and make it so they can only go a distance.

Considering, the contest is going to be filled with highly realistic, perfect proportioned, particles, highly built details. You'll be lucky to get in.

Looks good though definitely scale it by at least x5. Needs to be much bigger so people can walk the landscape not in seconds but minutes. Also yes, more trees, more brush, more rocks, etc. Add some flavor. Edit the lighting, add particles. Make it feel real.
