They've scored 269 runs so far this season, that's the most in the majors. 3 players (Donaldson, Bautista and Encarnacion each have 30+ RBI's already, not to mention how hot Donaldson has been, a recent 10 game hit streak just snapped this afternoon but also a surprise in Chris Colabello who's currently on a 16 game hit streak.
Once the remainder of the injured players (LF Michael Saunders and 2B Devon Travis) are back on the roster the depth and offence of this team could be dangerous, the pitching was not the greatest to start the season but over the last 15 starts each pitcher has done extremely well. |

as expected blue jays stack up offense, and flop pitching |

Shhh, if you don't mention his name he might not notice! |
|

They've had potential for the last 3-4 years and haven't done anything. |

Yeah Donny but like I said, they've recently improved and can only keep improving... Aaron Sanchez walked a ton of batters in his first month and a half but as of late he's really gained the strike zone command and went 8+ innings giving up just 1 ER and walking nobody on Friday in the 6-2 victory. |

Plus the addition of Russ Martin hasn't shown to improve their record yet but he's certainly impacted behind the plate with his ability to throw out runners and call a good game for the young talent on the pitching staff. |

I will, 2nd game I've ever gone to.
The con though is we are leaving at 7, 3 and a half hour drive to Rogers Centre, 3 9r so hour game, same 3 and a half hour ride home.
Note: The length of time driving there ad back is determined by traffic. |

it's a shame you used RBI to judge those players instead of actual stats like OBP and WAR, in which all of the players you mentioned (except encarnacion who is absolutely garbage) are having great seasons

It looks like Encarnacion is ruled out of tomorrow's game, my projected lineup may be this.
SS Reyes
3B Donaldson
RF Bautista
C Martin
1B Smoak
LF Colabello
CF Pillar
2B Goins

jays pitching always sucks |
|
|
milwaukee and colorado have worse pitching stats but yeah toronto is right there with them

@zc
I highly doubt Collabello is batting after Smoak and Martin the way he is hitting. |

You don't really think Encarnacion is garbage do you? You know he's just off to a slow start and has been injured for some parts... He's a good hitter.
Also you still haven't explained your logic on how to change/stop major league analysts from using RBI's as an accurate stat, how would you judge a way the runner on first, second or third are scored in by the hitter at the plate? Why isn't it an accurate judgement for you? |

Encarnacion's shoulder certainly hasn't helped his swing. He hit slightly better in May though. |

yes i do, he's having a terrible season
he has a 0.1 WAR with a .306 OBP

RBI should never, ever be used to judge a player's value because the fact of the matter is that the batter has literally no control whatsoever of the ability of his teammates to get on base before he steps up to the plate
you don't change the way "driving in runs" is scored, it will always be the RBI, it's just that it's not an accurate measurement of a player's hitting ability

how is that even relevant whatsoever??? he gets on base at a .306 % and that is a JOKE, plus he has a dWAR of -0.3 with a wOBA of .326

Yeah it's true obviously the player on deck has no control or ability to make sure the batter at the plate gets on base but it defiantly changes their approach if he does get on doesn't it? If there's 2 outs and you're up you're probably thinking 1 of 2 things, don't strikeout here or let's hit a HR or get a big base hit, if there's a runner on they've probably changed their approach especially if they aren't a typical HR hitter to let's single up the middle if the runner is on 2nd, and go for that RBI... Right? |

pretty sure he's a power hitter and that is how power hitters play.
but i forgot. there's only two stats in the mlb. war and on base percentage.

Edwin should be fine when his shoulder gets full healed up. He's actually hitting more groundballs than flyballs, the first time ever in his career. |
