To make scripting easier for beginners, you should add some sort of drag-and-drop system for scripting. Kinda like scratch. Opinions are stoopid anyway agree or die

No support. People who actually made/make their scripts shouldn't have to regret all of the hard hours they put in. If newbies want to learn scripting, then they should go through all the hard work the pros did. GG. Next!

Support. Kids play this game, and they want to make their own. Drag & drop would be simple for beginners, considering ROBLOXStudio is complicated for them. Also, @above What About The Children?!

Ninja, I could reverse that logic. What about the pros who a proud of their hard work? GG. Next!

But the beginners would make simple obby games. They don't know scripting. Compare a simple, sloppy obby to Mad Murderer.

This could be a good start for newer people. Of course, with simple drag and drops, you can't do anything complex, can you? With something easy to start with, more people would find it easier to learn the harder stuff. Support.

To be honest, I wish I started scripting a lot earlier than I did, but the thing that was stopping me..? Everything seemed far too complex for my young mind. If this was an option to get me started, back when I wanted to start, it would of been so much better.

Then kids wouldn't be used to the real thing, like GoAnimate and Flash.

It'd be very hard. Scratch can technically do anything, but it's made from that building block language. ROBLOX uses Lua. It'd be very hard to put all the possibilities of the ROBLOX engine's Lua into a building block kinda thing. No support.

They could make it work. After all, they're only using simple lua scripts and I didn't say it world BE Scratch, I said it would be LIKE Scratch. (I.E similar) agree or die

Oh yeah -- and of course it would be simple. After learning the simple things, users should be motivated to learn real scripting! agree or die

"It'd be very hard to put all the possibilities of the ROBLOX engine's Lua into a building block kinda thing." If this was added, I don't think they'd make it so it has all of these possibilities. I'd imagine basic things, that could get people started on scripting in an easier and fun way.

learn the hard way it's like saying "this guy is new to baseball, let's let him hit a home run" it's just a way of babying people who are too lazy to learn and making the pro's work look like they just took the long way of scripting by doing it themselves le expert of rustling jimmies

"People who actually made/make their scripts shouldn't have to regret all of the hard hours they put in. If newbies want to learn scripting, then they should go through all the hard work the pros did." your logic is horribly flawed

#166203451Wednesday, July 01, 2015 8:09 PM GMT

@Iron, No, it's nothing like that. This is an easier way to learn the exact same thing. Letting someone win at baseball won't help them learn, but teaching people the basics in a less complex, more fun and child-friendly way will help them learn quicker. Just because some people learned the "hard way" doesn't mean others need to as well; If there is a possibility to learn an easier way, that should be an option.

Disagree. You can't just turn an OOP scripting language in to a "drag-and-drop" thingy. Metatables can't be done with drag-and-drop and they will take probably more than 4 months if they do this. And I don't know why you need something more easier than roblox lua. If you have trouble learning lua... then what can I say? "You need to explore more"

#166203788Wednesday, July 01, 2015 8:13 PM GMT

Ugh, I don't know how I can make this anymore clear. This is a game for kids, yet ROBLOX expects them to learn scripting which, for younger people, is very complex and difficult. The complexity actually puts younger people off, such as myself at the time. I actually only started learning about 6 months ago, but I wish I started back in 2010: Something I would of done if my young, stupid mind could understand it a bit more.

#166203870Wednesday, July 01, 2015 8:14 PM GMT

This suggestion is not saying that all scripting should be turned in to a drag and drop system, but basic and simple code that you could use to get yourself started on basic terms so that when you go in to the real stuff, you'll pick it up a lot easier.

^There are kids who are 8 years old and they TRY HARD to learn it that's why they succeed to learn lua. Deal with it If you expect everything to be easy then... I forgot what's next but I guess you know
