New York State Laws Section 1: Vehicular Laws 1.1 Drivers must obey ALL traffic laws at all times. 1.1.2Emergency Services may exceed the speed limit when responding to emergencies. 1.2 Drivers must pull over for emergency vehicles responding with flashing lights and/or a siren. 1.2.3 Drivers must pull over or move to the other or farther lane than pulled over emergency vehicles with flashing lights. 1.3 Drivers may not use their vehicle to injure or murder another citizen. 1.4 Drivers must obey all traffic control devices at all times. 1.5 Drivers must have valid license plates on their vehicle. 1.6 Drivers must carry licenses, registrations, and proof of insurance with them in their vehicle at all times. Section 2: Property Laws 2.1 Citizens have the right to their property. They have the right to refuse entry on their private property or in their homes. 2.2 Citizens have the right to refuse others entry to their vehicle. 2.3 Law Enforcement may not enter private property unless they have a search warrant, or when contraband is in plain view. 2.4 Citizens may not steal property from other citizens. Section 3: Firearm Laws 3.1 Citizens have the right to bare firearms, as long as those firearms are registered. 3.2 Citizens must own an open carry license while carrying firearms in public, in the open. 3.3 Citizens have the right to own and carry a concealed weapon, as long as they own a concealed carry permit. 3.4 Citizens may not own fully automatic firearms without a license. 3.5 Firearms may never be on the premises of a court house, police or sheriff station, hospital, or school district, unless by law enforcement. 3.6 Cities have the right to create ordinances to prohibit firing guns in public. 3.7 Businesses have the right to prohibit the carry of firearms in their store. 3.8 Citizens may only purchase firearms from licensed vendors. Section 4: Emergency Lights 4.1 All law enforcement vehicles must use either full blue lights on their vehicles, with the option of an amber director. 4.1.2 Security Agencies may only use green or orange lights. 4.2 Fire/EMS may use red, white, or amber emergency lights. 4.3 Public Works may only use white, amber, or green emergency lights. 4.4 Emergency Service Officials have the right to own a POV. This POV may have red, blue, white, amber, green, or purple lights. 4.5 POV's and Public Works may not have sirens equipped on their vehicles. Horns are acceptable. 4.6 POV's may NOT be used for traffic stops. This is considered impersonation of an officer. Section 5: Disorderly Conduct 5.1 Disorderly Conduct is considered the following: Screaming (Caps Locking) in public Jumping on the hoods of vehicles. Yelling derogatory or discriminating terms in public. Section 6: Homicide, Manslaughter, Self Defense, Negligent Homicide, Assault, and Battery. 6.1 A murder is the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another. 6.2 Manslaughter is the crime of killing a human being without malice aforethought, or otherwise in circumstances not amounting to murder. 6.3 Self Defense is the act of killing or injuring someone if they are posing a direct threat to a citizen. 6.4 Negligent Homicide is the act of accidental killing another human. 6.5 Assault is the act of creating apprehension of an imminent harmful or offensive contact with a human. 6.6 Battery is a criminal offense involving unlawful physical contact of a human. Section 7: Domestic Animal Laws 7.1 Citizens have the right to own domesticated animals, such as cats, dogs, fish, etc. 7.2 Citizens must care for the animal. 7.3 Abusing any animal is a felony charge. Section 8: Farming Animal Laws 8.1 Citizens have the right to own farming animals 8.2 Citizens must care for these animals at all times. These animals, although, may be slaughter for food. Section 9: Fish and Wildlife Laws 9.1 Citizens may only hunt game such as Turkey, Deer, Ducks, Squirrels, etc. During Hunting Season Only. 9.2 Citizens may only hunt on their property, or leased property. Poaching is a felony. 9.3 Hunting on another person's property without permission is considered poaching. 9.4 Hunters may hunt at 50 or more yards away from a state highway or road. 9.5 Fishermen/women may only fish on their property. Fishing on another's property without permission is illegal (poaching). 9.6 Fishing is a year round hobby. There is no season to it. 9.7 Hunters and Fishermen/women must carry a license at all times when fishing or hunting.
