Foreign word use confusion...
From now on in this thread, aerodynamicball = American football, and football = "soccer".
So, people just called aerodynamicball football because the ball is mildly shaped like a foot and they couldn't think of a better name so people stole football's name and made up the word "soccer" for a substitution of "football" so the two names don't get confused? Fail. |

I played gridiron football in high school. I was a varsity running back for sophmore - senior years. I lived in a small town and set the school record for most yards in a season and most career yards. Then I found out some kid oblite.rated my record this year. |

American football is just a cheap copy of Rugby. Their almost EXACTLY the same sport... You do almost the exact same thing in both. |

And actually, not every country calls fútbol football. The Japanese word for fútbol is "sakkā", which obviously comes from "soccer". While the Japanese word for aerodynamicball is very interesting. "Amerikan-futtobōru". |
