Many instant messengers like Skype, AOL Instant Messenger, ICQ and Facebook Messenger allow users to view the history of all their chats from a LONG time ago, and this feature I find very useful because I'm the nostalgic type, plus I've been trying to put together how my group of friends formed and simply our earlier days to compare and contrast how we were, and other things related to that. I believe that Roblox should have this feature too because my group of friends first met and socialised on Roblox before other messengers. And since it was so long ago, we have gradually begun to forget our earlier days, as time passes by, and we would like to be able to remember these days.
Here is how I think the feature would work.
In the settings page, a new tab called "Chat Logs" would allow one to view or download every party and private chat logs since the creation of the account, as a text file.
The log could be formatted in a variety of ways, like colours, timestamps, and file formats.
To download individual files, the user could search up usernames to find private chats with them, or parties with them in it, and download logs named after the creation date and time of the party/chat.
The chat logs themselves would be timestamped if selected, formatted in the way chosen, and each message would show the username of the sender like in a party or private chat.
Also, parties and chats with banned/terminated users would not show up, or be available for download, to prevent offensive content from being downloaded or shown.
I think this feature would be very useful to Roblox users, and simply increase the satisfaction of users and make use of the servers that store these chats (Yes, they do store them. I once emailed Roblox asking to send my party logs and they said no but they do have them) instead of them just sitting there.
