time travel to before the california gold rush and spend 5-10 years collecting gold and saving enough until i can live more than comfortable for the rest of my life when i travel back to the present there's probably easier ways to become super rich but i like to do things complicated

come on, get the gold, invest it, go forwards in time, cash in, go to the great depression, buy stock in huge companies as cheap as possible, fund bill gates and steve jobs as soon as they're starting their companies, buy controlling stocks in things when they're ultracheap... think big anyway, here's a response to an askreddit thread asking, "you are immortal and are given one coin. you're sent back to 1500. how do you get rich?"
