say maybe 2012ish, not sure. probably looking for the best user-control/usability
since ROBLOX has just destroyed their studio capability and filled it with annoying small errors and "features". can't even use their default leaderboard, that's how bad they're getting at this god damnit |

Well, I do have the old ROBLOX studio files (like legit the old, not the "old studio" as people like to refer to as the old layout in Studio).
But like... What is wrong with the default leaderboard?

Go to File.
Go to settings.
Look for General.
Hover over the UI and you'll see "Ribbon layout"
Change that to SYstem one.
You'll get the old studio.

well the default leaderboard doesn't work, I don't know why. And they've updated ROBLOX so much all their original set models are outdated and they refuse to do anything about it, so with each annoying update, the less compatibility with their own stuff increases so I have to attempt to find a user's version which is usually custom and not what I simply need.

If you do end up with an outdated version of studio, keep in mind that if you open a place from the ROBLOX database then it will auto update studio for you, AKA you lose the outdated version. What you can do is to first download the place to your computer, then open it via Studio.

No no no no. You don't need to turn it off or anything, just don't load a place from the ROBLOX website and you should be fine. You can only load local files.

every few updates it introduces pesky errors
right now for example the paint-tool doesn't work and when it does I can only select one colour then I can't select another, when I move a brick 8/10 times it will teleport away somewhere even on an open baseplate, the stud-placement system goes out of sync faster than normal unless that's my fault but I have built places with 1-stud placement on throughout the whole thing and it still manages to get out of sync with other parts, I can no longer remove any inserted Services and sometimes I cannot move a brick with the Axis if it is touching the floor, I have to replace/move it up in order to move it about with the Axis tool |

Interesting.
My studio doesn't work properly either, your problem is quite different to mine as mine only effects scripting. |

i see, haven't heard of scripting problems before with studio.
mine happens if I reinstall it or not it doesn't make much of a difference.
although a week or two ago one of my hard drives died and the other is on its last legs, it could be a problem with that but when my computer was running fine these problems still happened. |

If I insert a script from free models into my studio it's reset to "print hello world'.
If I write my own script and then save it when I next open studio and the game it resets.
If I take one of my own models of a script I've done before and insert it to a game it resets. |
