He just acts better than everyone and is always right. His jokes are also obnoxious. I'd say he was fine until daily uploads. |

Today he said youtubers wouldn't make videos if they didn't get money, I think that explains the problem |

Honestly, I don't watch his videos religiously and I don't really plan to in the future. That said though, I NEVER got that impression that he was pretentious or anything like that from his discussion videos. In fact, I always found him slightly irritating BECAUSE it seemed like he was constantly having to correct himself so hypersensitive users misinterpreting his arguments as some thinly-veiled way to gloat. The video I am talking about here were the bloxxy discussion video.

Also, he isn't wrong here. Even the youtubers who make very little money still use youtube as a source of income, a source that if it didn't exist, they likely wouldn't be making videos. That is just how the world works. You can't expect people to do stuff like make videos on a regular basis if it isn't really sustainable. You hear a lot of youtubers- particularly the wealthier ones- talk about how it "isn't about the money". That probably is true(they were making videos way before they could make a living), but I do find it ironic they say that when they are literally making seven digit salaries consistently every year. |

All he ever did was that.
Plus he was always boring whenever he talked. |

I agree with you, he is dropping in quality due to the daily uploads. Most of his discussion videos can be answered in 5 seconds and his machinima Out at Sea had no effort put into it whatsoever. The only video of his I'd liked in a while was the How To Play Deception Infection. When I question him about this or read other comments, he just goes all flamey on me and other youtubers and makes up excuses.

@sky
what if someone didn't get any money from youtube despite being famous and kept making videos |
|
|
|
>they were making videos way before they could make a living
You just debunked your whole argument, earning money just allows youtubers to make more videos. Many of the people who are famous on youtube started just for fun (Although I can think of a few who didn't) |

Oh yeah did you ever see his discussion video "why does roblox lose connection" where he gives tech advice without even knowing about the actual problem he was asked about |

Lets do a thought experiment here. Lets say tomorrow, pewdiepie miraculously stops earning anything on youtube. What do you think would happen? Do you think he would leave youtube? Do you think he would stay for his fans, even though he is making nothing?
Lets answer this with a different scenario: Lets say ALL the income in your house is gone. All of it. Your parents were told that from now on, they are no longer going to be paid to work. Their only reason for going would be because they love it. What will happen then? Something tells me they are going to look for a different job, because for all the things your parents say about how good their job is and how much they enjoy benefiting the lives of people, they can't live off of that.
Of course, it is doable to make videos and make virtually nothing off of it, but that simply isn't viable as a large channel. The demand to make videos on a daily basis, the struggles of work and interacting with your fans. Add on the fact that most youtubers are expected to look after their SO, their children if they have any etc. Yes, most youtubers started without making any money, but that was also five years ago when they didn't have to worry about money because they were being financially supported, or they had a part-time job making minimum wage which, because they are providing for more than one person, isn't enough anymore.
You tell me one youtuber that has made youtube their job, where the channel wouldn't die if the creator suddenly stopped making money off of it.

and what do you gain by posting an opinion about a youtuber you dislike

I like how his reason for the videos not being the best is "have you tried making daily videos?"
Id prefer a good video every 4 days over a crap discussion every day |
