So.. ROBLOX has just recently removed our group payout system.
How do I feel about it? I'm not furious, but that doesn't mean I'm happy about it, in all honesty. I don't need the group payout system for myself, I want everyone to be able to have it. It's a very useful tool, not just for me, but for you all!
The removal of the group payout system without warning has kind of disrupted loads of studios/developing groups, etc. The group payout system made it extremely simple for people to get money out to the people that worked hard to get things to other ROBLOXians, or just to get reimbursed for things that they did. If they did a group project, and got their game famous, the funds would all be given out, but then again, it would end up being massively taxed, so people aren't getting what they worked for. It's unfortunate that things had to happen this way because even NBCers were able to profit from it. People who actually worked to get the money they earned, and now it's a problem.
I understand that there were things done on ROBLOX to help ROBLOX make more money. You know with the removal of Lifetime memberships? Well yeah, it's a very intelligent business move indeed, but taking away the chance to make evenly distributed money for things you actually worked for on ROBLOX isn't right. Nobody will end up getting full pay because of a marketplace fee taken away from ROBLOXian developers, clothing designers, etc. That brings up another issue. The Marketplace fees.
Marketplace fees aren't necessarily needed in my opinion. We all understand that ROBLOX has a real-world currency system going on through the game currency made by other ROBLOXians. It's still just too much. People could actually get the money they earned legitimately, instead of it being taken away. It's game currency that I'm pretty sure ROBLOX can generate for themselves, and even so, they don't need to. They have games that they developed that many people loved to play for years, and they got loads of money for it, and on top of that, they have the limiteds, all of the hats they make, etc. They are the central marketplace. They pretty much get a small portion of everything that you sell, even though they have enough for themselves. That also brings up the thought,
"Couldn't they DevEx the money they earned through ROBLOX?"
The answer to that is No, because the money is pretty much just taken from them anyways, so what would be the point of taking money from themselves? Either way, they end up with the money and no game currency. The money doesn't come from the government, it comes from them. ROBLOX decided to be generous and they pretty much payout to people who work hard for the money they earned through developing, clothing sales, etc, so it wouldn't make sense for them to just take money from themselves.
We all as ROBLOXians need to take a stand for what we believe is right, as a whole! There are a lot of things that are just completely unnecessary on ROBLOX, like the current group payout removal, as stated above. Without us, there would be no ROBLOX, so I, Excaro, plead to you all right now. We all need to come together and slowly create a better ROBLOX for all of us, and all of it's other players, and even maybe future players. Sure, the group payout is just a small thing of many things that can be pleaded against, but this is one small step of many that we can take to make a better ROBLOX! The things that make ROBLOX seem as if it isn't as fun as it was before, are the very things that are driving people away! It's changes like these, changes like these that halt progress in very important things. Removing the group payout system does nothing good for any of us. It just halts our plans, and we keep on losing more of our earned money.
With changes like these, people on ROBLOX are slowly just leaving day by day. Removing something this important, something this useful to all of us, all of the people on this site, including the NBCers.
I'm going to start this petition. I want you all to copy it and add numbers and your names to it, and I want this to get big. I want to take a stand with you, my fellow ROBLOXians! WE NEED TO STAND TOGETHER TO MAKE CHANGE FOR THE BETTER!
We must get our beloved payout system reverted back, and I cannot do it alone!
