do you think the Golden State Warriors should change their name back to the San Francisco Warriors when their new stadium is done being built? |

Why would they change the name (that markets the entire state and includes all of their fanbase in Northern California) to a name that includes one city (and alienates roughly 60% of their fanbase) |

I don't know, they said they'd only change the name from votes of the fans |

Why did they even change their name in the first place? I think the San Francisco Warriors is a better name than "Golden State" |

"Why did they even change their name in the first place?"
because they don't play in San Francisco and only about 30-40% of their fans live in San Francisco, but that's just a guess |

they changed the name to Golden State because it represents the whole metro area better than just San Francisco. since they have played all around the bay area, it's why they call themselves "the bay's team"
Also a re-branding wouldn't make sense since they have been known as Golden State for decades. |

More like 8% to 10%.
Bay Area population is 7.2M, San Francisco is roughly 8% of the population. There are two factors I considered when making the estimate. San Francisco is full of transplants that might keep their former hometown's team, but there is also the percentage of Kings fans that are in the eastern parts of the Bay Area. |

Isn't the Golden state all about the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco |

California's official state nickname is the Golden State. The name was originated from the gold rush that spanned from 1848 to 1855. The men who wanted to get rich quick spiked the population of the unrecognized state so much that the state was created only 2 years after they found gold in the rivers.
The 49ers team are based on the gold rush.
The Golden Gate bridge was not based on the gold rush. The bridge has an orange tint to it and the name carried.
The Warriors current logo is the new section of the Bay Bridge. Showing they are San Francisco and Oakland. |
